Jaya Bachchan often makes it to the headlines for her apparent dislike of being asked for pictures by the paparazzi. Time and again, she has schooled the media for taking her pictures without consent and the disturbance it causes to her when they flash the cameras repeatedly at her. And now, as she arrived at the home of the late filmmaker, Yash Chopra to pay her condolences after the demise of Pamela Chopra, she was again seen getting angry at the shutterbugs.
On March 21, 2023, Jaya Bachchan along with her daughter, Shweta Bachchan visited the Chopra residence to pay their tribute at the prayer meet of Pamela Chopra. The mother-daughter duo looked visibly morose since Pamela had been a close family friend of theirs. In a video circulated by a leading paparazzi page, the actress was spotted getting angry at the paparazzi who waited to click a picture of her. Moreover, she also issued a warning to the paps as they darted quite close to her and asked them to keep a distance. In her words:

Apart from her severe dislike of the paparazzi culture, Jaya Bachchan has also been known to have quite a temper, which makes her an unapologetic person at most times. On February 12, 2023, a video circulated on Twitter featured Jaya Bachchan getting angry and showing a rude attitude at the Rajya Sabha session. She was spotted pointing her fingers at the Honourable Rajya Sabha chairman, Jagdeep Dhankar, who merely asked her to take her seat. And indeed so, the netizens did not wait long before trolling the actress for her disrespectful behaviour.

As soon as the awaiting paparazzi started clicking pictures of the evergreen couple, Jaya lashed out at them and stopped them from clicking pictures of her. Moreover, she also took a dig at their profession and remarked:
“Aese Logon Ko Naukri Se Nikal Dena Chahiye”

Jaya Bachchan’s strained relationship with the media is not new, as she has spoken about her dislike of being constantly clicked time and again. For instance, on October 25, 2022, Jaya Bachchan angrily chased away the paparazzi stationed outside her home, Jalsa, who waited to get a few pictures from the glittery Diwali party of the Bachchans. She went ahead and angrily shouted at the paparazzi for behaving like intruders.
