Jaya Bachchan followed the same rule after marrying the superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, son of famous writer, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.

Recently, we stumbled upon a rare video from the music launch event of the 1995 film, Rangeela, which featured Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar. The music launch event was decorated like a wedding and had notable celebrity guests in attendance. However, our eyes were stuck on Jaya Bachchan. She looked unrecognisable as she walked beside Amitabh Bachchan.
Jaya Bachchan was dressed up in a simple white suit, and her head was covered with a dupatta. She was not wearing any makeup or heavy jewellery, and her hair was tied at the back. The veteran actress looked unrecognisable. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan was dressed up in a three-piece suit.
In another glimpse, we can see Jaya Bachchan, who looked coy as she sat with the film's heroine, Urmila Matondkar. It seemed like she felt a bit out of place or a lot was going on in her head. No one can even guess that she is the same outspoken Jaya Bachchan.

Amitabh and Jaya tied the knot at a friend's apartment in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in 1973 after dating for some time. However, before the marriage, Amitabh had imposed a condition that Jaya would reduce her work hours. Yes, in a conversation with her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, during her podcast, What The Hell Navya, Jaya revealed Amitabh's condition.
Jaya shared that they had decided to get married in October as her work would be less during that time. However, Amitabh straight away told her that he didn't want a wife who was working 9 to 5. He clarified that she could work, but she should reduce her work time. Sharing the anecdote, Jaya Bachchan said:
"We had decided we will marry in October because by then my work would have reduced. But he had told me, 'I definitely don’t want a wife who will be 9 to 5. Please work, but not every day. You choose your projects and work with the right people'."
