Jay and Mahhi got married in 2011 and embraced parenthood in 2019, by welcoming a baby girl, Tara. Finally, Jay has broken his silence amid ongoing speculation about his divorce from Mahhi. The actor, who is on vacation with his daughter, Tara, posted a droolworthy video of her dancing to the viral song "There’s Squirrels in My Pants." In the video, Tara was seen playfully dancing to the tune while lip-syncing the lyrics. Sharing the post, Jay wrote:

“When Dad is alone with the kid this has to happen.”

As soon as Jay Bhanushali dropped the post, Mahhi Vij was the first to comment on the adorable video of the father-daughter duo as she wrote, “Tara is the cutest.” Mahhi smartly shut down all conversations about her divorce from Jay. The couple’s fans too reacted to Mahhi’s comment and wrote, “@mahhivij aapka message media walon per Tamasha hai.”

Recently, a Hindustan Times report stated that the television power couple, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij, were heading for a separation. The news surfaced in the media while Jay was vacationing in Japan with his daughter, Tara. The report stated that the pair opted for separation a few months back and, despite many attempts to reconcile, it did not work out. A source was quoted as saying:

“Much was tried, but nothing changed. Separation happened a long time ago. They filed for divorce a couple of months back. The papers have been signed and finalised in July-August, and the custody of the kids has also been decided upon."

Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij's divorce has been on the horizon for a long time. According to the source, their marital troubles began when the actress started having trust issues about Jay. The source also pointed out that the couple had stopped posting pictures together, and their last family photograph was from June 2024.
