Javed Jaaferi is famous for his comic roles on the silver screen. He is the son of great comic actor, Jagdeep. Talking about his children and son, Meezan has followed his path and has been working in films as an actor. On the other hand, his daughter, Alaviaa is a content creator and influencer. However, Javed Jaaferi seems unhappy about his daughter's career choice as he strongly reacted to her profession.
Last year, Javed Jaaferi took a strong dig at Alaviaa's profession as a content creator and influencer while appearing on the Amazon Prime Video show, The Tribe. Now, in a recent interaction with Humans Of Bombay, Javed Jaaferi again talked about his opinion. Javed accepted that his comment was tongue-in-cheek, but this is what it is. He took a dig at people dancing and singing for timepass. He said:
"But what is it actually? You turn around and your outfit changes. And then you are lip-syncing a song. You should create something original. There are people dancing, singing, doing martial arts, but all of this timepass. We are consuming so much mediocrity that we are turning mediocre. It’s actually hyponisting you and it becomes an addiction. People are just looking and consuming and it’s all nonsense. What is an influencer? An influencer is someone like Gandhi, who influences you to do certain things in your life."
Earlier, Javed admitted that not all influencers are in the fame for money. He stated that he had seen people from a village who lived in a small hut and they are trying to make a living from it, which is justified. He said:
"I see some stuff like, someone from a village, who lives in a small hut, they are trying to do something. I understand where they are coming from. They need some validation. That they are getting a chance to get out of their suffocating life. I see someone dancing in a weird way but I understand where they are coming from and it’s emotional also because I know they are living a very difficult life. There is no appreciation and they are looking for some kind of validation. Everyone is not into it for the monetisation."
Last year, when Javed Jaaferi appeared on his daughter Alaviaa's show, The Tribe, he said that any random person is coming and becoming an influencer. When his daughter objected to his remark, Javed, without mincing his words, stated that people are consuming shit.
What do you think about Javed Jaaferi's comment on influencers?
