Jasprit Bumrah created a world record in February 2024 when he became the first bowler in the history of cricket to reach the number one position in all game formats, including ODI, Tests and T20I. It was a proud moment for Indian cricket, and Bumrah engraved his status in history books as one of the greatest bowlers in world cricket. Over the decades, we have witnessed a series of iconic bowlers, but none of them could be able to attain the number one position in all three formats of the game.
Apart from this world record, Jasprit Bumrah has a series of records of his name, which will probably be broken only by a generational talent like him. Talking about his incredible record in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Bumrah has won five IPL titles with Mumbai Indians. The current vice-captain of India's Test cricket team will also aim to break Lasith Malinga's record of getting the most wickets for Mumbai Indians. While Malinga sits on top with 170 wickets, Bumrah has 150 and hopes to surpass the Sri Lankan legend.
For the uninitiated, it was New Zealand's iconic player, John Wright, who discovered Jasprit Bumrah. John was one of the scouts of Mumbai Indians who was searching for a young pacer. As the 2012-13 season of IPL was on the verge of its conclusion, John Wright attended a domestic match between Mumbai and Gujarat. When he saw an 18-year-old fast pacer in the match, John was convinced that the youngster was destined for greatness. After a few days, Mumbai Indians called Bumrah to ask if he was interested in joining them, and the youngster immediately said 'Yes', and the rest is history.
Moving on to Jasprit Bumrah's personal life, he leads a happy married life with his gorgeous wife, Sanjana Ganesan. Like Bumrah, Sanjana is also an avid cricket lover and works as a sports anchor and presenter for a series of renowned broadcasting channels. Sanjana has been working as a sports presenter for more than six years. She has covered a series of mega-events in her career, including the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, the 2020 Women's T20 World Cup, the 2023 Women's Premier League, the T20 World Cup in 2021 and 2022, and many more.
Jasprit Bumrah's wife, Sanjana Ganesan, also has a massive fan following on Instagram, as she has 1.6 million followers on her IG handle. From sharing snippets from her work diaries to collaborating with a series of brands, Sanjana never skips a chance to grab the attention of her followers with her IG posts. Talking about Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan's love story, they met for the first time when the latter interviewed him during the 2013-14 IPL season. However, they became friends during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, and they started dating after knowing each other a bit more.
