Janhvi Kapoor is one of the most promising actresses in Bollywood. She is the daughter of the veteran actress, Sridevi and her producer-husband, Boney Kapoor. Following her mother's footsteps, the star daughter has marked her name in the Hindi film industry. Moreover, time and again, we have witnessed Janhvi talking about her mother, Sridevi and her beautiful acting career. Now, once again, she opened up about her mother and how she feels connected more to her roots.

In an interview with the Indian Express, Janhvi Kapoor talked about her mother, Sridevi. She even reflected on her South Indian roots and revealed that she feels more connected to her mom's roots. The Dhadak actress said she considered herself more of 'Ayyappan', which is Sridevi's surname, than a 'Kapoor'. Janhvi even mentioned that she feels comfortable and secure in the South Indian culture and environment. In Her words:

"I feel an affinity, a comfort and a security in that environment. The minute I meet someone who’s South Indian, who has that accent, I feel automatically, ‘This person I like the most, this person is my best friend’."

In the same interview, Janhvi even opened up about her mother, Sridevi's acting career. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that it was wrong for her mother to be paired with grown-up men when she was only 13 and then cast her opposite their son's when she was 21. Janhvi even stated that though it was normal back then, she does feel that it was not okay to cast her mother opposite men who were not of her age. In her words:

"She was 13 when she was heroine to the fathers, and she was 21 when she was heroine to the sons. It’s actually very wrong, but it’s how it was back then."

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Janhvi Kapoor had opened up about her mother, Sridevi's opinion on her acting dreams. Talking about the same, the actress revealed that her mom was against her acting career. She even shared Sridevi's first reaction when she told her about her keen interest in acting. The veteran actress's instant response to Janhvi's decision to join the acting business was “don’t get into it”. Janhvi even mentioned that, according to Sridevi, she had worked hard all the years to give a comfortable life to her daughters, which the industry could never provide.
