Malayalam Actor, Janardhanan Reveals His Wife Knew About Extramarital Affair, 'She Did Not Like...'

Janardhanan is one of the most popular, loved and celebrated Malayalam actors, who has appeared in over 450 films across a beautiful five-decade-long career. For the unversed, the 79-year-old actor has appeared in hit and iconic films Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, Meleparambil Aanveedu, Kaduva and more. Recently, the veteran actor opened up about his extramarital affair and revealed that his wife knew everything about it. 

Janardhanan had an extramarital affair 18 years ago

Recently, veteran Malayalam actor, Janardhanan had a candid conversation with Vanitha magazine, in which he opened up about his extramarital affair and shared that even though, his wife didn't like it, she understood and knew everything about it. Talking the same, the actor was quoted as saying:

"I had a relationship with a woman outside my marriage eighteen years ago. Most of the decisions in my life have been right, but this one was wrong. My wife knew about it. She did not like it, obviously, but she adjusted somehow. She knew me from a very young age, so her best quality was that she always understood me, no matter the situation."

The actor continued to explain that the reason he had an extramarital affair was because his own marriage was losing intimacy and he had some temptation at that time. He further stated that even though, it started as a temptation, later Janardhanan was able to look after the woman and provide her with essentials. In his words:

"This was the time when my wife said that she was not interested in any sort of physical intimacy in our marriage. So naturally, I had this temptation. We are all humans, right? But I was able to look after this new partner for many years and provide for her. I have not seen her since."

Janardhanan calls the extramarital affair a ‘black mark’ in his life

During the same conversation with Vanitha magazine, the veteran actor recalled a recent incident, where the woman called him. He also went on to call that phase and the extramarital affair a black mark in his life. He also revealed that later on, the woman left him because she feared societal stigma. Janardhanan shared:

"Recently, that woman called me after seeing my interview about my wife and asked me how I could speak so lovingly of my wife when I was with her. It all happened like that. That is the only black mark in my whole life. I am opening up now because I have only so much time left. I am sure that no one else in my life was affected by this one mistake. She ended things when her son grew up, as she was worried about societal stigma."

Janardhanan Pillai is a popular actor in the Malayalam film industry, who has been working for almost five decades. Reportedly, he was born in 1946, and over the years, he has appeared in films like Meleparambil Aanveedu, Punjabi House, Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, Dhruvam, Kilukkam, Thenmavin Kombath and Devasuram.
