'Himanshu' Of 'Khichdi', A.K.A, Jamnadas Majethia Looks Unrecognizable At Indian Telly Awards 2025

Jamnadas Majethia, also known as JD, isn't just a good actor who has primarily worked in the Gujarati and Hindi TV industry. JD is also the producer of all the iconic and cult shows like Khichdi, Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, among others. Along with creating these serials, JD Majethia is also remembered for his role as 'Himanshu' in Khichdi, which never failed to make people laugh every time he appeared on screen. However, the actor-producer was recently spotted at the Indian Telly Awards 2025 and looked completely different and almost unrecognisable.

JD Majethia surprised the fans and paparazzi alike with his new look at the red carpet of the Indian Telly Awards 2025. The actor sported a long silver-white beard and moustache. Along with that, his matching long tresses of hair also made him unrecognisable. Even JD's fashion was completely different from what he had worn before. Earlier, the beloved comic actor would don colourful clothes and a fedora hat. However, in his recent appearance, JD wore a stylish white silk kurta and matching pants.

JD Majethia produced shows like Khichdi and Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai; however, the writer of these serials, Atish Kapadia, is the brain behind the popular ventures. In fact, as producer and writer, JD and Atish are one of the most iconic showmaker duos of the Indian TV industry. Hence, JD's unique appearance was made even more intriguing when Atish, who you might remember as 'Kaccha Kela' from Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai, joined him on the red carpet. And to everyone's surprise, Atish was wearing the same outfit as JD, but his was all black. 

JD Majethia will be bringing the Khichdi franchise back again 

After the success of Khichdi and Instant Khichdi (season 2 of the show), the showmakers expanded this franchise into the film industry as well. The 2010, Khichdi:The Movie was a commercial hit. Then few years later, JD Majethia and brought the franchise back with another season of the series, Khichdi Returns and the 2023 movie, Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan. However, both of them received lukewarm response from fans. However, JD isn't done with Khichdi yet, as he recently announced in Farah Khan's cooking vlogs that there will be a Khichdi 3 in 2027. In the vlog, JD said:

“I want to announce on your channel that Khichdi Part 3 will come in the year 2027, which will also mark 25 years of Khichdi."

On the personal front, JD Majethia is married to Nipa Majethia and they have two daughters, Kesar and Mishri. Both of his daughters have been involved in the making of Khichdi to some extent. Kesar was the narrator of the show, while Mishri essayed the role of 'Chakki Parekh' in Khichdi. Apart from working in the TV industry, JD is also passionate about theatre and has been actively promoting Gujarati plays.
