American conservative political activist, Charlie Kirk lost his life in a tragic incident at just 31 years of age. He was fatally shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. His death came as a shock to the netizens, and they poured in their condolences in their own way. Now, Jamie Lee Curtis spoke about the late activist and broke down in tears as she recalled that he was more than just a political figure.
Jamie Lee Curtis broke down in tears while sharing her thoughts on the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk. The activist, who was also the founder of Turning Point USA, lost his life in a fatal shootout. Investigators have now arrested Tyler Robinson as the prime suspect for the murder. Jamie brought up Charlie's death during a recent episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast.
During her appearance on the podcast, Jamie Lee Curtis announced that she was about to bring up something that had been on her mind for a while. The Oscar winner further mistakenly called Kirk 'Charlie Crist', attributing the error to his 'deep, deep belief' in his faith. Jamie revealed that she disagreed with him on almost everything he ever said, but he was a man of faith, and she hoped that in his last moments, he felt connected with it.
In the same conversation, Jamie Lee Curtis added that even though Charlie Kirk's opinions and beliefs were extremely contrasting to hers, she believes he was still a father and a husband. She was quoted as saying:
"I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith. Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he’s a father, a husband, and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it."
In the same conversation, Jamie Lee Curtis shared that as a society, they are so exposed to imagery of vile crimes across the world, from 9/11 to Charlie's murder, that people have forgotten about the impact it can have on a person. She shared how she never wants to see that awful video and stated:

"Yesterday [on 9/11], we watched again these images of those buildings coming down. … Today, we as a society are bombarded with imagery. So we don’t know what the longitudinal effects of seeing those towers come down over and over and over and over again, or watching his execution over and over and over again. … I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot."
Jamie also noted that people don't know enough about psychology and what seeing these violent images repeatedly does to people. She also raised the question about the lack of humanity in the present generation and cited that it was because people are saturated with these images. Following Carlie Kirk's death, Hollywood notables and political figures from both sides of the aisle took to social media to pay tribute to the conservative activist, but also to condemn the violence.
