In It: Welcome To Derry episode 3, Now You See It, we have seen the kids' group end up finding a hint about 'Pennywise's presence as they ride around the cemetery at night. Episode 4 unfolds several other secrets that are directly connected to the scary dancing clown, 'Pennywise'. We have seen that Derry's military force is out there to track down 'Pennywise', led by 'General Shaw', who, during his childhood, encountered the scary clown. The force is joined by 'Dick Hallorann' and 'Rose', and the latter had the idea of 'Pennywise's location in the Derry woods. The force detained 'Taniel', the nephew of 'Rose'. He was asked about the woods, but he refused to answer, and 'Hallorann', with his abilities, looked deep inside 'Taniel's mind, which showed his childhood home in Derry.

'Taniel' is one of the many indigenous people in Derry, known as the Shokopiwah. During this, we could see the presence of 'Galloo'. But what is it? As shown in the series, adapted from the novel, about a million years ago, a falling star fell on the earth, and as it broke, it freed an evil spirit. The evil used to feed on people in his territory, which led the tribe Shokopiwah's elderly figure to carve a dagger to fight the monster. Well, the Derry people would avoid the territory of the monster, whom they named 'Galloo'.

Following this, the settlers didn't follow the tribe's advice and went to the woods, leading 'Galloo' to feed on people and become even more powerful. Tribe's leader, 'Sesqui', felt that the people of Derry should leave the place in order to be saved. Well, it was his daughter, who stole the dragger and headed towards the woods to fight 'Galloo'.

As a result, 'Sesqui' was killed and 'Galloo' became more powerful, which led the former's daughter and others to find the pieces of the stars in the woods to make a barrier to stop 'Galloo'. To mention, thus 'Galloo' is none other than 'Pennywise', in his origin. With the development of the story, we might see why and how he took the look of a clown. Stephen King's novel showed 'Pennywise' as a giant spider, which is very different from the movie and series adaptations.
