Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's wedding have been the most talked-about, searched and looked forward to weddings of the year. With Beyonce performing at their pre-wedding ceremony and Salman Khan posing as a background dancer (all in good faith though), only the Ambanis can afford to do so! The couple had a lavish pre-wedding ceremony starting December 07, 2018 until yesterday, and looks like the celebrations will go on for a few more days. After all, it is Ambanis ki beti ki shaadi! A few while back we shared the first ever picture of Isha and Anand in their wedding avatars. The 'just married' couple were twinning in their ivory avatars and wearing matching garlands. What was exquisite was Isha decked up in diamond from head-to-toe! Also as per a couple of inside pictures, a mere glance at Nita and Mukesh looking at their daughter and you will totally feel what they are going through at the very thought of now actually giving away their daughter. And now, the latest pictures that we received have the couple in a completely candid mode. Yes, Isha and Anand have now been officially pronounced as 'Mister and Missus' and we can't keep calm! The two pictures that we are going to share with you has the couple deeply in love, looking at each other. What was unique about the photographs (apart from the couple themselves), was Isha's beautiful diamond mangalsutra! That’s not all! We have something more fun and adorable to offer. Isha’s engagement was a private affair with very few guests and family members in attendance. With a few pictures and videos leaking out from the engagement ceremony, we caught a glimpse of an unseen picture from Isha’s engagement ceremony. The official statement that confirmed Isha and Anand's wedding could be read as, "We are delighted to share that the marriage of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal will take place in the residence of Shri Mukesh Ambani and Smt. Nita Ambani in Mumbai with family members and close friends on 12th December, 2018. The statement further stated, “During the weekend prior to the wedding, the Ambani and Piramal families will host their friends and family in Udaipur, where they are partnering with artisans and craftsmen to integrate local culture and traditions into the festivities. Both families seek the blessings and good wishes of everyone for Isha and Anand as they start their journey of togetherness. Nita and Mukesh Ambani Swati and Ajay Piramal.”
While the party and bash are totally in order, a recent activity of the Ambanis has surely won over everybody’s heart! The family has been hosting an ‘Anna Seva’, wherein they are feeding 5100 people, three times a day. Apart from this, they have also set up a Swadesh Bazaar “an initiative of the Reliance Foundation), which will showcase “108 traditional Indian Crafts and art forms from all different regions of the country for the national and international guests”, thus keeping Indian art crafts alive.
And today December 09, 2018), the bazaar had some special visitors. The bride-to-be Isha Ambani, along with her mommy, Nita Ambani, former First Lady of US, Hillary Clinton and Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar and his wife, Anjali Tendulkar, visited Swadesh Bazaar. An official statement issued by the official could be read as, “In one of the key highlights of the pre-wedding functions of her daughter, Isha Ambani’s wedding with Anand Piramal, Ms. Nita Ambani, who is also Chairperson of Reliance Foundation and Isha Ambani today visited Swadesh Bazaar, a curated showcase of 108 traditional Indian crafts and art forms, that were on display for the national and international guests attending the pre-wedding functions. Swadesh Bazaar is a unique concept initiated by Reliance Foundation to encourage the craftsmanship of traditional Indian artisans, especially for a lot of indigenous crafts that need conservation and revival. Reliance Foundation has been supporting these arts and crafts over the years and aims to broaden and deepen its support to the goals of Swadesh Bazaar on a bigger and more sustainable scale in the future.”
The note continued, “Presenting their art were master craftsmen and craftswomen themselves, who are keeping these traditional crafts alive. The whole exhibit created an interesting experience as also an immersion into India’s cultural heritage for the national and international guests, comprising of connoisseurs and several influential leaders from the world of business, arts and different walks of life. Artisan families, master craftsmen and craftswomen showcased their indigenous technique and products of weaving like Jamdani from West Bengal; Patola from Gujarat; Pashmina Kani from Kashmir; Kota Weaving, Chanderi weaving and Maheshwari from Madhya Pradesh; Mekhla Chador from Assam, among several others.” (Checkout! It concluded with, “Showcasing some very intricate hand embroidery artists of Kantha from West Bengal; Chamba Rumal from Himachal Pradesh; Sujuni embroidery from Bihar; Gara Embroidery of the Parsi community; Crochet; Kashidakari from Kashmir; Embroideries of Kuchch; Phulkari from Punjab and Gota Patti from Rajasthan. From the world-renowned Kanjeevaram, Chkankari, Bandhej and Leheriya; there were exhibits of the popularity-gaining printed fabrics of Bagru Dabu, Bagh, Kalamkari and Ajrak. Swadesh Bazaar highlighted the beauty of traditional Indian crafts that the Reliance Foundation has been unstintingly supporting over the years. Swadesh Bazaar seeks to become a unique exhibit that not just provides livelihoods to thousands of artisans, but also gives them an opportunity to showcase rare works from every nook and corner of India, for people’s interest, appreciation and support.”
