Is Salman Khan Upset With Doctors For Sharing An Update On Salim Khan's Health To Media? Find Out

The family of Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan are facing one of the toughest phases of their life as much-loved and celebrated screenwriters, Salim Khan has been admitted in Lilavati hospital for a few days. However, now it looks like the family is not happy with the doctors of the hospital, after they publicly shared an update on Salim Khan's health.

Why is Salman Khan and his family upset with the medical update?

For those who do not know, Salim Khan was admitted to hospital after he suffered a brain hemorrhage. Doctor, Jalil Parkar was doing the treatment of the screenwriter. Later, he shared an update with the media, in which he explained that Salim Khan was out of danger, but on ventilator support. Later, a source close to the family told Variety that Salman Khan and his family were not happy with the same. They wanted the update to be private. The source was quoted as saying:

"Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers."

Further, the source had revealed that Salman Khan and his family had asked the medical team to not share any more updates of Salim Khan to the media. The source explained that Salman Khan had clearly told the doctors to not share anything related to his father anywhere. The source shared:

"Salman and his family were displeased with the doctor’s public statement and have clearly conveyed to the authorities that they do not want any further details disclosed."

What did the doctor share about Salim Khan to the media?

For those who do not know, Salim Khan’s doctor shared his health update on February 18, 2026, during a conversation with the media. During the same, he had revealed that the veteran screenwriter is stable and under close medical observation. The doctor has also explained that Salim Khan was recovering fast and the entire team is keeping a close watch on him. 

It is also worth mentioning that ever since Salim Khan has been admitted, multiple celebrities have visited him in the hospital. Some of them are Javed Akhtar, Sanjay Dutt, Sangeeta Bijlani, Zeeshan Siddique, Iulia Vantur and more. According to a report by the Indian Express, family members who visited the veteran screenwriter were Aayush Sharma, Arhaan Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira Khan, Arbaaz Khan, his wife, Shhura Khan and more.

Salim Khan is one of the most respected screenwriters of the film industry. Reportedly, he was born on November 24, 1935, in Indore. If reports are to be believed, he moved to Mumbai in his 20s. He started his career as an actor. Later, he paired up with Javed Akhtar and together they wrote the scripts of multiple iconic films like Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewar, Don, Trishul, Mr. India and more.

Talking about his personal life, Salim Khan first got married to Salma Khan, with whom he shares four children. Later, he tied the knot with Helen Richardson. It is also worth mentioning that Salim Khan was once offered the Padma Shri; however, he rejected it. According to NDTV, he had once shared:

"I deserve more than a Padma Shri for my contribution to Hindi cinema. After media speculations I was prepared to accept Padma Bhushan but sorry Padma Shri is just not acceptable, so I refused to accept it. My partner Javed Akhtar has received both Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri."
