Brandon Blackstock, former music manager and ex-husband of singer, Kelly Clarkson, had bid a farewell to the world on August 7, 2025. The 48-year-old passed away from a quiet yet courageous three-and-a-half-year battle with melanoma, a kind of skin cancer. Brandon, who was known for his deep connections in the music industry, otherwise lived a low-key life away from the spotlight. His untimely demise has left both the entertainment world and his loved ones mourning.
According to a new report by TMZ, Kelly Clarkson, who is dealing with 'grief' after her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock's demise, while prioritising her kids, might soon return to work. Sources close to her team told the portal that The Kelly Clarkson Show will move forward with its scheduled Season 7 premiere in fall season i.e September 2025. However, there has been no official confirmation by Kelly or her team of the news. Sharing the update, the source said:
"The Kelly Clarkson Show is locked for a 7th season and the plan is to still drop fresh episodes in September."
The talk show, which has become a staple of daytime television, earlier came under the spotlight when rumours about Kelly's possible exit from the show made headlines. However, now insiders revealed that she was frequently absent from the show due to Brandon's declining health. Her team knew about it, but everyone kept it private out of respect for the family.
Apart from her talk show, Kelly Clarkson had even kept her music career on hold for her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock's, poor health. Just days before the news about his death was made official, she took to her Instagram handle and announced that they were postponing her Las Vegas "Studio Session" concerts in August 2025. Without giving much information, she mentioned that she needed to be fully present for her children, River and Remington, due to Brandon's ill health. Sharing an emotional post, she penned:
"While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them."
Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson's love story was nothing short of a whirlwind romance with music at its center. The duo first met in 2006 during the rehearsals for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Kelly openly shared that she was instantly drawn towards his ability to make people laugh. But nothing romantic happened, and later Brandon reconnected with her in 2012. They met at the Super Bowl event, briefly dated before tying the knot in 2013. Apart from welcoming two kids, River and Remington, Brandon even served as her manager. But the duo faced legal issues and 'irreconcilable differences', leading Kelly to file for divorce in 2020, which was finalised after two years due to a bitter custody battle.
