Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, we meet extraordinary people, who touch our heart and our soul by just 'being there'. And Bollywood actor, Irrfan Khan was one of them. We have only seen him perform on the silver screen, yet he felt like a 'family'. He might not have the looks of a traditional Bollywood hero, but he had made a name as a character actor and became the 'hero' of every hit film. He had 80 films in his box of success, but not many know that he was about to give up acting in his 30's, after an unrewarding decade in television serials. Thank God that the audience had showered him with love and we got to witness his beautiful legacy in the form of films. As a writer and journalist, words seem short when we try to describe our feelings of losing a great superstar, Irrfan Khan. We still clearly remember the morning of April 29, 2020, when the news of Irrfan's demise flashed on our screens. For a second, we were not able to believe it. He had left us all heartbroken with no goodbyes, no funeral and no closure. There will always be a void in our heart that after the lockdown gets over, the filmy duniya will be changed forever as there will be no 'Irrfan Khan'. In fact, we can never get closure on this because we truly believe that it wasn't his time. Destiny had taken him from us a little too soon!

Irrfan was a great actor and even a greater human being as he had always seen life with a spectacle of positivity. He had dropped his last name 'Khan' as he wanted his work to speak for himself. The actor had always tried living life to the fullest. He wasn't a daydreamer, in fact, he had a notion of doing things right in the moment. On May 1, 2020, Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan took to his Instagram handle and shared an unseen video of his father. In the video, we got a glimpse of Irrfan's love for food and enjoying the little moment as we can see him eating pani puri after a long shoot. Alongside it, his son wrote, "When you’re on diet for so long and then the shoot ends and you can have pani puri." Check it out below:
Irrfan was so much in love with his craft that he wanted his audience to come to the theatre to see the capability of his film and not just for him. In a 2016 interview with India.com, he had confidently stated, "I don’t want that day to arrive ever. I don’t want to live to see that day. I want my audience to see my craft, my film first. I don’t want my audience to come to theatres to see me. I want them to see my craft. The day they come to see me and not my film, that day will be my death." We remember how Irrfan had shared the news of being diagnosed with the rare disease in an emotional tweet on his Twitter handle. He had described his fight with the words that could be read as "Sometimes you wake up with a jolt with life-shaking you up. The last fifteen days, my life has been a suspense story. Little had I known that my search for rare stories would make me find a rare disease. I have never given up and have always fought for my choices and always will. My family and friends are with me and we are working it out the best way possible. In trying times, please don't speculate as I will myself share with you my story within a week - ten days when the further investigations come with a conclusive diagnosis. Till then, wish the best for me! – Irrfan." (Don't Miss: Shah Rukh Khan's Daughter, Suhana Khan Secretly Captured Grooving And Singing Eminem's Song, Watch)
