While the world is fighting the battle with the vicious Coronavirus, April 29, 2020, marked as the darkest and dreaded day in the life of millions. The legendary actor and the best of human being, Irrfan Khan lost his battle to rare cancer at the age of 53 in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. His death was not just a loss for his family or Indian cinema, it was a loss for humanity and mankind for a gem of a person he was. To everyone, it felt like a personal loss, and everyone has mourned over his death that was the charisma, the late actor had held. It was on April 3, 2019, that Irrfan had come back from the US, post his treatment for neuroendocrine tumour and had tweeted about the same, saying, “Maybe somewhere in the pursuit of winning, we forget how much it means to be loved. In our vulnerability, we are reminded. As I leave my footprints onto these steps of my life, I want to pause to be grateful for receiving your immense love and support, it soothed me in my process of healing. So I travel back to you, thanking you from the bottom of my heart.” And when everyone was delighted with his recovery, we lost the gem and that breaks everyone’s heart.

Irrfan Khan's comeback note

Post Irrfan Khan’s death, according to a report by ETimes, his elder brother, Imran had said that Irrfan has gone up to meet their ‘Ammi’ as he could not attend her last rites. For the uninitiated, Irrfan’s mother had passed away in Jaipur just three days before the actor’s death, and he could not travel for the last rites because of the lockdown and his ill health, and thus attended the funeral through a video call. Irrfan’s brother talked about this, and said, "It appears that while Bhaijaan was unable to make it to the burial of our mother, he has gone up there to meet mother. Woh kehtey theey fikar na karo main aaonga."

Imran also opened up about Irrfan Khan’s love for kite flying and said, "He used to tell us in December to buy bunches of kites and Manjhas. And after reaching home if he was not satisfied with our quality he used to purchase them himself." Irrfan Khan’s younger brother, Salman Khan revealed that the actor was full of life even after being diagnosed with cancer. He said, "Even after cancer he was frequently into calling us up. It seems that Irrfan was affected by his mother’s death even more that he recalled his mother during his last breathe and could see her sitting next to him. According to a report by Peepingmoon, in the last moments of his life, Irrfan Khan was seeing his mother. The legendary actor had told his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, who was sitting beside him in tears with their son, Babil, ex-manager, Asif, and driver, Hashmat in the same room. Irrfan told his wife that his mother has come to ease his pain. The actor had told his wife, “Now, I’m certain that I’m going to die. Amma is there in the room.
