Internet Slams Elderly Woman Mocking Her Daughter-In-Law In Labour, 'Aisi Saas Toh Dushman..'

A video from Prayagraj has been surfacing on the internet, leaving netizens infuriated. In the said clip, an elderly woman was seen making fun of her young daughter-in-law, who seemed to be in labour. She mocked her yelling due to pain, and it showed her insensitivity. As soon as the video surfaced, netizens expressed their distaste for the remark.

Video shows mother-in-law mocking her daughter-in-law in labour

A shocking video from Uttar Pradesh has left the internet on fire for the right reason. As they are calling out the woman who made a distasteful remark about her daughter-in-law's labour. In the clip, shared by Dr. Naaz Fatima from Naaz Hospital in Prayagraj, a young woman was in labour and was surrounded by her family. On the other hand, her husband held her hand in support as she was whimpering due to labour pain.

However, it was her mother-in-law, dressed up in a white suit with a white dupatta covering her head, mocking her in front of relatives present inside her room. Instead of offering comfort to her daughter-in-law, she taunted her and mocked her. She told the husband, who was comforting his wife, to leave her hand. When another relative asked her why, she straight away told her daughter-in-law to shut her mouth and said:

"Munh bandh karo ekdum. Maar de munh pe hum? Galaa dabaa de toh awaaz naa nikli."

Another relative joked that a case would be filed against her. On the other hand, the woman in labour was just lying there helplessly. Further, the mother-in-law didn't even give approval for a C-section delivery, and straight away denied and asked the daughter-in-law to have a normal delivery. The doctor captioned the video as:

"Is time pe pyaar se baat karna hota hai. Mai isi liye sirf husband ko sath rakhti hoon baki kisi ko nahi."

Netizens' reaction to the mother-in-law's mean remarks

As soon as the video gained traction, netizens expressed their shock on such mean remarks by a woman to a woman. One user wrote, "Aisi saas to dushman ko bhi na de." Another one commented, "Hard to watch a pregnant woman being disrespected and no one saying a word. Another reminder that not every elder deserves respect. Age doesn’t automatically make you wise or kind. Being older doesn’t give you the right to be rude, or for people who are saying that she is joking and having fun (I am sorry, she just gave birth to a baby, it's not the right time to joke around her). Being old is not a free pass for bad behaviour."

When netizens started lashing out at the mother-in-law, the doctor in the comments section stated that it was a prank on the mother-in-law. The lady had delivered the baby. The doctor added that the woman is good and loves her. She wrote, "Yahan Amma ke sath prank kiya tha delivery ho chuki thi sab ko pata tha amma ko bas nahi pata tha to sab ne amma ke sath mazak kiya tha amma achi hain bahu se pyaar karti hai bahu se pooch ne bataya."
