Scott Adams, an American author and cartoonist is currently hogging the limelight after he confessed that he has zero chances of recovery from his prostate cancer. He addressed the matter and called it 'bad news'. Scott is widely known as the creator of Dilbert comic strip. Earlier, on May 19, 2025, in a YouTube livestream revealed the news of his terminal prostate cancer.

Scott Adams tied the knot with Shelly Miles in 2006. The couple got married on a yacht in San Francisco Bay. Adam was 49 years old when he married Shelly and the latter was 37. Adams didn’t have any biological children with Shelly, but co-parented the two children of Shelly from her previous marriage. In 2018, Shelly lost her son, and Scott too shared his grief over the following. Through a heartfelt video, Scott confirmed the tragic death of his stepson and shared that "the little boy I raised from the age of two was dead."

However, Scott and Shelly’s seemingly happy marriage came to an end in 2014. Adams once revealed in a Psychology Today blog post what went wrong in their marriage. He mentioned that even after parting ways, they remained best friends. He was quoted as saying:

After his divorce from Shelly, Scott gave love another chance. He got married to model, pilot and social media personality, Kristina Basham, in 2020. However, after nearly two years, the couple announced their separation in March 2022. The news of their divorce was revealed by the cartoonist on his podcast, Real Coffee with Scott Adams. After his separation from Kristina, Scott Adams is reportedly single.

In May 2025, Scott Adams revealed that his prostate cancer had spread to his bones on his podcast. He also opened up about the negative effects that the cancer diagnosis had caused him. He mentioned that every day is a nightmare for him. He shared how pain has moved to different parts of his body. He was quoted as saying:

"Every day is a nightmare, and the evening is even worse. I’m in pain, and I’m always in pain, and the pain moves around to different parts of my body. I’ve been using a walker to walk for months now."

During a recent livestream of his podcast, Real Coffee with Scott Adams on January 1, 2026, the cartoonist shared details about his cancer diagnosis. He disclosed a conversation with his radiologist. He mentioned that it’s bad news as the doctor told him that he had zero chances of recovery. The cartoonist highlighted that he will continue livestreaming until he feels right. He added that January 2026 will be a month of transition for him. He was quoted as saying:

"It's all bad news. The odds of me recovering are essentially zero. I'll give you any updates if that changes, but it won't. January is a month of transition. I will continue livestreaming as long as it makes sense. I like doing it. Keeps me busy."
