Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, known as Rajinikanth was born into a Marathi family in Karnataka. Rajinikanth was interested in acting since childhood as he participated in many plays during his schooling. When he was working in Bangalore Transport Service (BTS), Rajinikanth decided to take up an acting course at the Madras Film Institute. It was during his stay in the institute, that he was noticed by Tamil director, K. Balachandran, who had advised him to learn Tamil and that had changed his life for the best.
The legendary actor had turned 71 years old on December 12, 2021. And on his birthday, his fans flooded the internet with heartwarming wishes and birthday posts on their social media. Many celebrities and actors from all over the county wished Rajinikanth on his special day. And one such wish came from his son-in-law, Dhanush.

As Rajinikanth celebrated his 71st birthday on December 12, 2021, his son-in-law and actor-director, Dhanush, took to his social media handle and shared a birthday wish for his father-in-law. The doting son-in-law penned down a sweet note which can be read as:
"Happy birthday my Thalaiva. The one and only Superstar Rajinikanth Sir... Love you so much."
Rajinikanth celebrated his 71st birthday with some birthday cakes and had enjoyed some fun-filled moments with his family members. Now, pictures from the same are doing rounds on the internet and their friends are going crazy over it. In the pictures, we can see Rajinikanth's wife, Latha Rajinikanth, their daughter, Soundarya, son-in-law, Visakan, and grandsons, Yatra Dhanush and Ved Krishna.

On December 12, 2020, Rajinikanth had turned 70 and his birthday was marked by celebrations across the nation as his fans had gathered outside his house to get a glimpse of their ‘Thalaivar’. With birthday hashtags on social media, food distribution and other charitable works, the actor’s birthday was nothing less than any festival. On the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday, his daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth had wished her appa and had shared a glimpse of his birthday cake. She had taken to her IG handle and had shared a picture of her daddy cutting his birthday cake which had the message ‘Now or Never’, which had become one of the taglines of his political plunge. Along with the picture, Soundarya had written:
“Happy birthday my life... dearest appa. #NowOrNever #ThalaivarBirthday #OneAndOnly.”

Earlier this year, on February 26, 2021, Rajinikanth and his wife, Latha had celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. On their special occasion, their doting daughter, Aishwarya, had shared a beautiful sketch that had featured her nana and nani on the left-hand side and her dada and dadi on the right. In the middle, we could see Rajinikanth and Latha holding each other's hands. Along with this priceless portrait, Aishwarya had penned a heart-melting letter in the caption. An excerpt from it could be read as:
"She embraced them as a family and he took care of hers like his own till the end of their days ... I truly believe that my grandparents are angels guarding the two of you through life with its every possible twist and at each turn."
On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in the film, Annaatthe.
