Insha Ghai Kalra's life took a 360-degree turn when she lost her husband, Ankit Kalra, on the occasion of Rakshabandhan in 2024. The entire influencer community was stumped, and everyone wanted to know what had gone wrong. While everyone moved on, Insha is struggling to restart her life, and as her Instagram bio says, 'Turning pain into purpose', she is on a mission to restart life and documenting her struggles, which might be many young women's too.
Losing your closest person is devasting, especially when it is your life partner. But Insha is still trying to heal. On March 25, 2025, she took to her Instagram handle and posted a video of her first solo date. In the honest documentation of the event, Insha revealed how she felt uncomfortable having a coffee alone. She tried to distract herself with her phone to act normal. But later, she ended up doing nothing and trying to enjoy the moment in her own company.
Along with the video, Insha penned how her healing journey is different, and she is trying to get ready and step out alone for a coffee date to fight the social anxiety. Her caption can be read as:
"Healing looks different for everyone—today, it looked like getting ready, stepping out alone, and taking myself out for coffee. Fighting the social anxiety, resisting the urge to hide behind my phone, and just being present. Learning to enjoy my own space, one sip at a time."
As soon as the post was made public, netizens rushed to root for Insha. One user penned, "More power to you! It’s not easy learning to step out alone for coffee, dinner, brunch, or even a trip. I still hesitate and think twice before doing it myself. Finding happiness, even in the little moments, is something we all deserve. Here’s to living each day fully — sending you strength and courage!"
A second user penned, "She was tested by time, yet she rose stronger and bolder. Bravo Mam, finally you've done it. Go ahead Mam, turn adversity in power, shape your destiny rise beyond limits - all you have to do is believe in yourself...I'm so happy for you."

Insha, who is in her late twenties, went through the scariest phase of her life after losing her husband, Ankit. It took her months to realise that her partner with whom she tied the knot a few months ago is no longer with her. In a podcast, Talk With Namit, she was asked how people treated her after her husband's death. She shared that she stopped existing for them.
Insha shared that it wasn't easy for her to come to terms with the reality that she was a widow. She revealed that people change once a woman's husband leaves. She stated:
"Aaj bhi on ground level agar ap widow ho toh log apse expect karege ki ap widow ki tarah raho. Vo apko suppress krege, vo apko sochege ki they can treat you in whatever way they feel like kyunki iska husband nahi hai. But yeh vo nahi yaad rakhte ki vo ladki ki bhi koi individuality hai that she is also somebody. Just because her husband is not there society ka right aa jata hai ap usko humilate karo. She is also a human."
