India was once known for its successful marriage rate. According to Sanatan Dharam, there is no such thing as divorce, it is the reason why there is no Hindi word for it. Also, 'talaq' is an Urdu word. While divorces are legal according to Hindu marriage act, but the religion believes in together for 'saat janam'. However, over the years, Indian women have happily stepped out of unhappy marriages without worrying about societal notions. It is an individual decision, and it takes a lot of courage to end something. And while society is accepting a woman's choice of parting ways from an unhappy marriage, some still pass judgements. A similar discussion happened between a group of three old Indian ladies who passed mean remarks to women.
A video was shared by an Indian match-making Instagram handle, where three old Indian ladies were having a discussion on women and their road to becoming rich. The clip started with one of the women stating that girls leave their 2-3 husbands and become rich. She said:
"2-3 husbands ko chodh ke toh they become rich ladies."
Another woman interrupted and recalled an incident when the first lady was going to attend a marriage that was called off. Sharing the reason for it, the woman said that the girl wasn't happy on the engagement day as she wanted a huge size solitare. The lady was quoted as saying:
"Shashi you remember that one marriage you were going to attend and you discovered that the marriage was called off because the previous day, the engagement was happening and the girl was not happy with the ring that they gave. She was not happy with the size of the solitare."
Another woman joined the gossip and claimed that some young girls demand for huge solitare before marriage. They ask the groom and in-laws to give them 7-8 carat and nothing else. She shared, "Aaj kal toh mai ne suna hai ladkiya pehle hi demand kar leti hai hume aur kuch nahi chahiye hume 7-8 carat daal do." Another shared, "Jo working girls hai woh kehti hai hume itna mat dena hume roz office jana hai pehanke do dena."
However, the ladies concluded that a lot of marraige happen, nowadays, due to money. But it was the thought of woman claiming that young girls find rich boys to get married. She said:

"See the girls are very smart, they find boys with riches."
As soon as the video surfaced on the internet, netizens were left in shock. One user commented, "Omg this is not right . I feel so sad for these ladies so much negative energy!" Another one penned, "Yaar. Thanks for telling me how to become rich. Need to find a few husbands to leave lol." A third user wrote, "What is wrong with these aunties??? Women are working, well educated and independent in every sense- they have every right to have high standards. If you had a daughter you will want her to be married into poverty?"
