Indian entertainment industry, aka Bollywood, is one of the most thriving industries in the world, so naturally, all of its actors are well-known worldwide. Be it in Hollywood or the South Korean space, the Bollywood actors are ruling the hearts of all. Bollywood movies are a force to be reckoned with, as they produce one after the other box-office hits that are not only meant for mass entertainment but are equally quality-driven. 

Indians have made a name for themselves to be loved and appreciated by the masses for their work and humility, and Bollywood actors are no different. Well, over the years, South Korean netizens have time and again showered love and appreciation over the Indian actors for their excellent work and also for their humanitarian duties. Here’s a list of a few Indian actors who are immensely popular in South Korea.

#1. Shah Rukh Khan

One can't list famous Indian actors without the Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan leading it. The Bollywood Pathan enjoys a massive fan following in South Korea that has especially skyrocketed after the release of his film, My Name Is Khan. The film was a massive blockbuster in South Korea, after which many other movies of the megastar were binge-watched by the South Koreans.

The perfectionist of Bollywood, aka Aamir Khan, is another leading star who has a massive fan following in K-town. Aamir’s movies like Dangal, Taare Zameen Par, and 3 Idiots did exceptionally well at the South Korean box office. This subsequently hiked his popularity in the country.

Abhishek Gupta, popularly known as Lucky, is an Indian who resides and works in South Korea. The actor has been part of several Hallayu projects and also appears as a panellist in several Korean summits. He last appeared in the K-drama, Pegasus Market

Vivek Oberoi gained popularity in South Korea through his antagonistic role in the 20005 international film, New Police Story. Vivek was cast opposite international icon, Jackie Chan in the movie, and he did complete justice to his role. The movie was a mega-hit in South Korea, subsequently providing Vivek Oberoi with international fame.

If there was one Indian actor who was consistently in fame in South Korea, then it was none other than Irrfan Khan. The actor achieved his fair share of fame in South Korea through his international projects, The Namesake and Slumdog Millionaire. Irrfan was so famous among South Koreans that they even wanted him to be a part of a K-drama.

Anupam Tripathi went to South Korea on a scholarship to pursue his education, and ever since, the Delhi boy has never had to turn back. The actor featured in South Korea’s hit series, Squid Game and has a lot of other projects under his kitty. Apart from that, Anupam has appeared in a number of Korean films like Space Sweeper, Vanishing, The 8th Night and more.

So much so that the actress has been roped in for her first Korean film, Asia. The film will be released in 2024, and Anushka Sen plays a pivotal role. The actress has even bagged her second Hallayu project due to her popularity.
