Imran Khan's Ex-Wife, Avantika Didn't Think She Would Survive Without Him, Says 'I Would Die..'

Bollywood actor and Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan, rose to fame with his debut film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The actor soon became the dream man of every girl and had them swooning with his charm. However, things didn't go as planned for the actor, and despite starring in several films after his debut, he could not keep up the box office numbers. The actor also faced a rough patch in his personal life after he got separated from his wife, Avantika Malik.

Imran Khan's ex-wife, Avantika Malik reacts to their divorce

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik ended their eight-year-long marriage when they got divorced in 2019. While Imran opened up about the impact of the same on his mental health, now, his ex-wife, Avantika has also opened up about their separation. She recalled weeping the day they decided to end things as she felt she would not be able to survive a day without Imran.

In a conversation with Janice Sequeira for The Healing Circle, Avantika opened up about her divorce and said that she had witnessed her life move forward after the divorce. However, she was scared that she won't survive without Imran Khan. She revealed that she felt like she would die if she had to live a day without her then-husband. She was quoted as saying:

"I had witnessed life go on after divorce, in my own home. And yet for me, the fear was so…I would feel that if my marriage broke, I would die. That’s what I felt. I felt like I would not survive a day without this guy. Because of my own fear and absolute lack of faith in myself, and that I know how to look after myself. But I was convinced that I will die."

In the same conversation, Avantika added that the day they decided to end their marriage she cried as if someone had passed away in the family. She revealed that's how it felt to her as se thought there was no way she could move on from this. Avantika further shared that she was petrified and also unemployed at the time. She was quoted as saying:

"The day that we decided 'this is it', I remember weeping like there was an immediate death in the family. That was the kind of wailing and weeping. Because to me, that was it. I am dead. There is no way I can move on, there is no way I can have a life. I was petrified. I was also not earning a living at that time."

Avantika Malik was convinced that only Imran Khan could save her

In the same conversation, Avantika Malik added that she latched onto Imran Khan because she felt like he would protect her. She added that she was not sure if it was daddy issues or abandonment issues but she felt like only Imran Khan could save her. Imran Khan and Avantika Malik got married in 2011. They welcomed their baby girl Imara Malik Khan in 2014. They continue to co-parent their daughter.

"I don't know if it is creeping from daddy issues, abandonment issues from childhood. Then you latch onto this man in your life and think, 'This man is going to save me and protect me; only this man can do this for me.' And I was convinced."
