Pakistani Cricketer, Imran Khan Had Almost Got Married To Rekha, Her Mother Consulted An Astrologer

Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi, best known as Imran Khan, served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2018 to April 2022. He is currently leading the headlines after rumours surfaced that the former Prime Minister has been killed inside a Pakistani jail. Reports surfaced that Imran was assassinated at Rawalpindi's high-security Adiala Jail. However, there is no confirmation on the reports.

Apart from being a political leader, Imran Khan is also one of Pakistan's most celebrated cricketers. Considered as one of the most good-looking men, Imran’s personal life and linkups equally fascinated people. Imran Khan and Rekha almost got married

It was in the 1980s when Rekha and Imran’s link-up rumours began. The two were spotted together on multiple occasions, and their love story made a lot of chatter in the glamour and cricketing world. It was reported that Rekha and Imran spent their time in each other’s company at Mumbai’s beaches, and he even visited her on shoots.

A report published in 1985 claimed that Imran and Rekha had been ’painting the town red’ and were head over heels in love with one another. As per the report:

“Those who saw Rekha and Imran enjoying each other’s company at the beach were struck by their closeness and were thus convinced that they loved each other deeply and passionately.”

Rekha’s mother visited an astrologer for her alliance with Imran Khan

The report also claimed that Rekha’s mother, Pushpavalli, was too happy with her relationship with Imran as she thought him to be the most eligible bachelor for her daughter. Not just this, Pushpavalli was keen for their alliance and even visited an astrologer for the same. The report stated:

“She had gone to Delhi and consulted a najoomi [astrologer] if Imran could be an ideal suiter to her daughter. No one knows what the najoomi had said but Rekha’s mother was convinced that Imran could be a welcome addition to her family.”

Why didn’t Imran Khan marry Rekha?

Though the reports suggested a possible alliance, it never materialized. Neither Rekha nor Imran revealed the reason, and no one exactly knows what went wrong. Post the reports, Rekha once caught attention when she attended a charity concert in Lahore with Imran Khan and was seen dancing with him.

Imran Khan’s past linkups with Bollywood beauties

Imran Khan was madly in love with Indian actress, Zeenat Aman. The two immensely good-looking celebrities had left everyone in awe with their romance in the late 1970s. The rumours were rife that Imran fell in love with Zeenat when he came to India for a match. It was also speculated that Imran had celebrated his 27th birthday in the company of Zeenat. However, none of them confirmed it.

Apart from Rekha and Zeenat, Imran Khan’s name was associated with actress, Shabana Azmi, but the two never discussed the same in public. There were a lot of rumours about Imran Khan’s relationship with Bengali actress, Moon Moon Sen. Their closeness gained a lot of attention in the media. Amid the speculations of Imran dating B-town divas, the cricketer once said:

“The company of actresses is good for a short period. I enjoy their company for some time and then move ahead. I cannot even think of marrying a movie actress."
