Long-term relationships require a lot of love and patience. People always tell you about the rainbows and butterflies, but there is definitely more to a long-term relationship than that. The honeymoon phase may last for a good six to twelve months, but what should you expect after that? Romance is obviously essential in any relationship. It is constantly present in the first few months of dating. But as time goes by, you might find the romance fading a bit. Do not worry! This is bound to happen. Relationships are based on bigger things than romance. And once you realise this, romance will feel trivial. Spending a lot of time together can at times become stressful. You might get a little sick of having him around all the time. Do not feel bad about it! Instead, give yourself a little space and do meet some other friends. Encourage him to do the same. This will lead you towards a happier, healthier and stronger relationship.
