Punjabi cinema's most-loved actress, Shehnaaz Gill has once again returned to the silver screen, with her latest film, Ikk Kudi. For those who don't know, Shehnaaz is a popular actress, who rose to fame with the reality show, Bigg Boss 13. Even though, she didn't win, it was her fun personality, which made the season memorable. Ikk Kudi is Shehnaaz's first project as a producer. Read on to know if the film is worth watching or not.
The Punjabi film, Ikk Kudi follows 'Simar' (played by Shehnaaz Gill), a warm-hearted yet modern Punjabi woman, whose family history is marked by failed relationships and heartbreaks. The film shows her set up in an arranged marriage, but just a few days before the wedding, 'Simar' starts to doubt the background of her fiancé.

Since 'Simar' is determined not to repeat any past mistakes, she starts investigating about her to-be-husband. The investigation soon turns comical. The narrative shifts between past and present, which adds an emotional layer to the story. The film, Ikk Kudi explores chemistry between characters and small-town Punjabi life.

The major highlight of the film, Ikk Kudi directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, is the charming screen presence of Shehnaaz Gill. The former Bigg Boss contestant has a double role in the film, whose energy is the USP of the film. Another highlight of Ikk Kudi is the warmth veteran actor, Nirmal Rishi brings on screen. Critics shared that she managed to make boring scenes the best ones only because of her comic timings and powerful acting. Another reason why the film is worth watching is that the film's core theme is very relatable for some viewers.

Despite having multiple plus points, the film, Ikk Kudi still fails to impress viewers because of its uneven narrative. According to critics, some scenes are unnecessarily stretched. This loss of pace is one of the major complaints of the film. At some places, the screenplay of the film seems to be weak, which makes the scene feel repetitive and predictable. Apart from this, the film continuously shifts from humour to emotional scenes, which can be overwhelming and because of this, viewers are unable to understand which emotion to feel.
