I Love LA plot

The show stars 'Maia' (Rachel Sennott), an ambitious young woman who aspires to be a talent agent, and 'Alyssa', her boss, on her 27th birthday, approaching her for a promotion. However, before she can have the conversation, they are interrupted by a phone call. The episode also sets the tone for 'Maia' and her relationship with now-estranged friend 'Tallulah' (Odessa A’zion), who has arrived in Los Angeles as arranged by their friend 'Alani'.

Their reunion is awkward, with 'Maia' pretending she got the promotion, even though she never spoke to her boss. However, their lies come crashing down during her birthday party, where the pair reveals they have both been lying about their successes, and they together decide that 'Tallulah' will move to Los Angeles and live with 'Maia' as a client.

Apart from Rachel Sennott as 'Maia' and Odessa A'zion as 'Tallulah'. Leighton Meester will essay the role of 'Alyssa', Jordan Firstman will be seen as 'Charlie', Josh Hutcherson as 'Dylan', and True Whitaker as 'Alani', all of whom are navigating life and love in the city of dreams. I Love LA also features an all-star guest cast, including Moses Ingram, Lauren Holt, Elijah Wood, Quenlin Blackwell, Josh Brener, Tim Baltz, Froy Gutierrez, and Colin Woodell.

I Love LA release schedule

After the premiere episode on November 2, 2025, the eight-episode series will drop one episode every week. The episodes will air on Sundays. The makers have revealed the name of the next two episodes, Roger & Munchy which will air on November 9, 2025, followed by Girl's Girl on November 16, 2025 Episode 4 will be released on November 23, 2025, followed by Episode 5 on November 30, 2025, Episode 6 on December 7, 2025, Episode 7 on December 14, 2025 and the finale, Episode 8 on December 21, 2025.

HBO ordered I Love LA's pilot episode on March 18, 2024, according to a report by Deadline Hollywood.  Odessa A'zion, Jordan Firstman, True Whitaker, and Miles Robbins were announced as main cast members in June 2024, with Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell joining the cast in guest roles in July 2024. The show was given a green light in September 2025. However, Josh Hutcherson replaced Miles Robbins in May 2025 after character and plot changes. The show is produced by HBO Entertainment with Rachel Sennott, Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Lorene Scafaria, and Max Silvestri as executive producers.
