HyunA's Dramatic Weight Loss Raises Alarm After She Collapsed Onstage In Macau, Fans Concerned

South Korean pop sensation, HyunA sparked widespread concern among fans after she collapsed onstage mid-performance at the WATERBOMB 2025 music festival in Macau. The shocking moment, captured on video, quickly went viral across social media, showing the 32-year-old star fainting while performing her hit song Bubble Pop! before being carried offstage by staff and backup dancers.

What happened with HyunA?

On November 9, 2025, HyunA performed at the WATERBOMB 2025 Macau outdoor music festival. During her performance of the hit song Bubble Pop!, she suddenly collapsed on stage while in the middle of the choreography. Backup dancers rushed to her side, and a security guard carried her off the stage in a visible state of distress.

The incident came just weeks after HyunA revealed she had lost 10 kilograms (22 pounds) in only 30 days, admitting she had been on a strict diet following her marriage. Her extreme transformation had already raised eyebrows among fans. Still, the onstage collapse has now fueled serious discussions about the pressures of body image and health in the K-pop industry.

What did HyunA say about it?

HyunA later addressed the scare in a heartfelt Instagram post, apologizing to fans for causing them concern. She assured followers that she is now resting and focusing on regaining her strength, adding, “I’m okay, so please don’t worry.” She wrote:

“I’m really sorry. It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional.”

According to reports, HyunA has long battled vasovagal syncope, a condition that can cause fainting spells when the body undergoes stress or exhaustion. Experts say her rapid weight loss and the high physical demands of live performances likely contributed to the incident.

Fans raised concerns over HyunA’s health

Fans from around the world flooded social media with messages of love and concern, urging the singer to prioritize her health over perfection in performance. One fan wrote, “She doesn’t owe anyone perfection. We just want her to be healthy and happy.” Another commented, “K-pop idols face impossible standards — this should be a wake-up call for the industry.”

HyunA’s rapid weight transformation journey

According to a report by Chosunbiz, HyunA’s recent health scare came after months of intense public scrutiny over her appearance. Following her marriage to fellow singer, Yong Junhyung, last year, the K-pop star, became the target of pregnancy rumours, which began circulating online when fans noticed she had gained a bit of weight. The speculation soon spread widely, putting enormous pressure on HyunA to address her changing appearance. Feeling the weight of public opinion, HyunA took to Instagram on October 3, 2025, where she openly admitted that she had been eating more than usual after her wedding and had quickly gained weight.

In the same post, she announced plans to start a strict diet, sharing an old photo of herself from her slimmer days and expressing her desire to “return to that version” of her body. Just a month later, on November 4, 2025, HyunA revealed that she had lost 10 kilograms in only 30 days, a drastic transformation that shocked fans and health experts alike. Despite the rapid results, the singer confessed that her diet was ongoing, suggesting she hadn’t yet reached her personal goal.
