You might recognise actress, Huma Qureshi, for her role in Netflix’s hit series, Delhi Crime 3, in which she plays the antagonist, 'Badi Didi'. However, this role is not the only reason why she is currently making headlines. The actress has recently weighed in on the 'emotional vs physical cheating' debate from the show, Too Much with Twinkle and Kajol, which went viral. If you, like the rest of us, are curious about Huma Qureshi's views on this topic that has the internet divided, we are here to ease your curiosity.
Huma Qureshi recently made an appearance on Shubhankar Mishra's podcast, where she made her stand clear about the debate that kicked off on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna's chat show, Too Much — Which cheating is worse? Emotional or Physical?' The actress shared views similar to those of most social media users and fans of the talk show. She stated that cheating is cheating, be it physical or emotional, and asked what emotional cheating is anyway.
Huma Qureshi made her stance even clearer when the host asked her about Kajol and Twinkle's comment that youngsters these days will have a very different view of infidelity when they grow older, specifically in their 50s. The actress stated that she did not believe in that. She further claimed:
“I am very black-white in this matter. Either don’t be with someone, and if you are with someone, then be with them properly. I don’t understand this free pass kind of thing. I can joke about it and say, ‘Don’t get caught, otherwise I will kill you.’ I don’t understand it, then don’t be with a person, stay single and do your thing.”
Taking Huma Qureshi's thoughts into consideration, the host, Shubhankar Mishra, asked the actress whether she had ever experienced culture shock after learning about conversations about open marriages and other unconventional arrangements in the film industry. To this, Huma shared about how it was especially hard for her after moving from Delhi to Mumbai. She stated:
“I grew up in a very protected environment in Delhi...Papa used to drop me everywhere. When I went to Bombay, it was an explosion — new people, new world.”

Huma Qureshi also made it known that she is not a fan of open relationships. Pushing back on the idea that open relationships are primarily a ‘Bollywood thing', she claimed:
“I won’t say this happens in Bollywood. In my experience, there are very good and cultured people here, very family-oriented. Some are not, sure — but that happens everywhere. The corporate world also has stories. We get defamed for no reason.”

In a recent episode of Kajol and Twinkle's talk show, Too Much with Twinkle and Kajol, a question was asked to its celebrity guests, Janhvi Kapoor, and Karan Johar. This question, which left not only the internet divided but also the said guests, was: "Whether emotional infidelity is worse than physical infidelity?" Karan was a part of the majority, along with the show's hosts, Kajol and Twinkle, claiming that physical infidelity is not a deal breaker. After Janhvi opposed this statement, claiming it would indeed be a deal-breaker for her, Twinkle Khanna chipped in, saying that Janhvi, being in her 20s, hasn't seen the things they, being in their 50s, have seen. According to them, ‘raat gayi, baat gayi', that is, what’s happened, has happened, and no more thought should be given to it.
