Hridayapoorvam, the feel-good family entertainer starring Mohanlal, has become a box office hit. It grossed Rs. 39.91 crore at the box office in India and grossed Rs. 76.84 crore worldwide. According to multiple reports, the romantic comedy is now the 4th highest-grossing Malayalam film at the worldwide box office. The protagonist, Mohanlal, has made headlines for all the right reasons. Recently, the superstar won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and his film, Thudarum, is now the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film. Now that Hridayapoorvam has made its way to the OTT, let’s find out what happens at the end of the film.

Before delving into the storyline and its ending, let’s meet the cast of Hridayapoorvam. The story revolves around 'Sandeep Balakrishnan', played by Mohanlal. The film also features Sangeeth Prathap, Malavika Mohanan, Sangita Madhavan Nair and Nishan. Sangeeth portrays the role of 'Jerry', Malavika plays the role of 'Haritha', Sangita portrays the role of 'Devika', and Nishan plays the role of 'Kiran'.

The plotline of Mohanlal starrer, Hridayapoorvam

The story focuses on 'Sandeep Balakrishnan', a middle-aged bachelor who resides in Kochi. By profession, he is a businessman and runs a successful cloud kitchen chain. However, after facing some health issues related to the heart, he underwent a heart transplant and returned to his everyday life with the support of his caregiver, 'Jerry'. Soon after his surgery, he also started working and remarked 'A heart is only an organ' without showing any gratitude and compassion to the people around him.

'Sandeep's' life changes when 'Haritha', the daughter of the army officer, Colonel 'Ravindranath', who donated his heart, invites him to her engagement in Pune. Initially reluctant, 'Sandeep' later agrees and travels with 'Jerry'. However, 'Haritha' calls off the engagement ceremony after knowing that her groom, 'Kiran' installed spyware in her phone without informing her. Things turned worse when 'Sandeep' injured himself during the commotion between the bride and the friends of the groom.

Sustaining the injury, 'Sandeep' couldn’t return to Pune and started living with the new family. 'Jerry' too stayed back with him and took care of him. While 'Haritha' and 'Devika' tried their best to create a bond with 'Sandeep', he stayed away from them and gave a cold reaction. However, things started to change unexpectedly when he spent more time with 'Haritha' and 'Devika'. He gradually emerges from his isolation and begins to embrace a newfound affection. His role in the family transforms from a guest into an important source of emotional strength.
