Kelley Mack Was Auditioning For Roles Weeks Before Death? Insider Shares How She Had A 'Quick End'

Kelley Mack was not just any other name in the entertainment world; she was an actor whose presence attracted attention on-screen. Her varied roles, calm spirit, and raw talent helped her make a way into Hollywood at a young age, and she left an imprint on every film or show that she worked in. Especially her role in The Walking Dead, Chicago Med, and 9-1-1 helped her make a special place in the hearts of fans.

However, her life was nothing about the glitz of a star. Rather, she was a fighter who kept chasing her dreams even in the darkest of times before leaving at the age of 33. Now, a new news report revealed how her passing was an unexpected tragedy for her loved ones.

Was Kelley Mack auditioning for roles weeks before her death? 

According to a news report from TMZ, Kelley Mack, who passed away at the mere age of 33, was actively auditioning for new acting roles as recently as June 2025. Despite being bound to a wheelchair due to her illness, she continued auditioning for roles of characters with mobility issues to continue working. A representative mentioned that Kelley even took some voiceover projects and was optimistic about her career. 

Later, in July 2025, she informed her team that she needed to take a break. However, none of them knew that it was the last time she went for an auditioning spree. For those unaware, the actress was battling glioma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, which affected her central nervous system. Another family insider revealed to the outlet that she had undergone treatment in February 2025. Post the treatment, she showed signs of recovery from it. However, unfortunately, her cancer relapsed suddenly and had quickly spread in her body, which led to her 'quick end'.  

Kelley Mack's battle with Glioma 

Kelly Mack was dealing with intense back and leg pain in 2024. After consulting with medical experts, it was revealed that she was suffering from a rare astrocytoma. The 9-1-1 actress shared her medical diagnosis about glioma, a form of cancer, in January 2025. She underwent treatment in the following months, and later in April 2025, her family celebrated the completion of her proton radiation therapy. Everyone was hopeful that Kelley would recover and bounce back. But sadly, her condition worsened without warning in July, and she passed away on August 2, 2025, with her mother and aunt by her side.

Kelley Mack's family will organise a celebration of life for her 

Kelley Mack's demise was confirmed by her family on August 3, 2025, through a heartfelt post on the CaringBridge page. They recalled how she was all about light, love, courage, and talent. They have planned a special celebration of life event for her to be held in Glendale, Ohio, on August 16, 2025. Another gathering is planned in Los Angeles on an unconfirmed date later. Kelley is survived by her parents, Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow, her siblings, Katherine and Parker, her aunt, Karen, and her boyfriend, Logan Lanier.
