Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh left everyone dancing their hearts out with his electrifying songs. From Blue Eyes to Millionaire, Honey Singh's songs are the most favourites when it comes down to hitting the dance floor. Well, Honey Singh had his fair share of struggles in his life, for which he had taken a long break of 2-2.5 years. In his documentary, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, he went down the memory lane and recalled his struggles with Bipolar disorder.
Talking about his struggles with bipolar disorder, Honey Singh broke down in tears. The rapper shared that along with this mental illness, there were psychotic symptoms as well. He further added that in this case, the mind goes out of someone's control, and the victim just sees a dream even while being awake. Honey Singh shared that he was even scared of his maid, that she would laugh at him or would wipe blood out of the floor. Honey Singh shared that he used to think he would not be able to meet his parents anymore, as he was going through hell at that time. Sharing that he wished for death every day, Honey Singh said:
"It was bipolar disorder. There were psychotic symptoms as well. What happens then is that your mind goes out of control. You start seeing dreams while you’re awake. I would get scared even when my maid used to come thinking she’d be laughing at me, she was wiping blood off the floor, etc. It was a weird feeling. I thought I’d never be able to meet my parents again. I saw hell. I wished for death every day."
Talking about the dark phase of his life, Honey Singh shared that he didn't work for 2-2.5 years, and it was a terrible time of his life, as his elderly father had to work, and he would sleep till 12:30 in the afternoon. The rapper shared that when his father would look at him, he couldn't as he was feeling ashamed of not being able to work, while his father had to at that age. In Honey Singh's words:
"When I didn’t work for 2–2.5 years, it was a terrible time. A young man is sitting at home and sleeping till 12:30 in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Papa went to work and comes back. When he would look at me and our eyes would meet, I would feel a lot of shame that I am not earning and my father has to work at this age."
Talking more about his parents, Honey Singh added that his parents had done a lot for him. The singer mentioned that his parents would keep on waiting for him to come home, which he couldn't do as it felt like a mad corpse to him. He revealed being through the worst and seeing everything in his life. He further advised his viewers to be with their parents and take care of them.
Honey Singh got married to his long-time girlfriend, Shalini Talwar in 2011. Well, after a few years of marital bliss, the couple separated, and Shalini accused the singer of domestic violence. Moreover, Honey Singh denied the allegations and later, Shalini withdrew the same after the divorce was settled.
