Honey Singh Ended His Year Long Sobriety Streak At Sonakshi Sinha's Reception, 'I Said Lao Aaj'

Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh in showbiz, has earned a good reputation for his career as an Indian music producer and singer. He began his career in the Punjabi music industry and soon entered Bollywood, becoming an instant sensation among the masses. However, following the massive success, the Angrezi Beat singer soon disappeared from the industry for a few years. Honey Singh returned to the scene a couple of years ago and often discusses how fame, intoxication, and health issues became reasons for his absence. In a new interview, Honey Singh spilled the beans on how he worked on leaving alcohol addiction and ended his year-long sobriety streak at Sonakshi Sinha's wedding reception in June 2024. 

Honey Singh reveals he stated to the paparazzi that he won't consume alcohol at Sonakshi Sinha's wedding celebration 

Honey Singh has had great success in Bollywood and has worked with the top stars in the industry. The rapper even developed good friendships in the industry, such as his bond with Sonakshi Sinha. Recently, in an interview with The Lallantop, he revealed how he was excited to be a part of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's wedding reception in June 2024. However, he planned not to consume any alcohol after staying away from it for more than a year and even announced it in the media. He was quoted as saying:

"I hadn't had vodka in over a year. I landed here for Sonakshi's wedding. I was very happy to attend her wedding in Mumbai. As I was going in, I declared to the paparazzi that I will dance without drinking today. I said so because I had not been drinking for a year."

For the unversed, Honey Singh developed an alcohol and drug addiction. He tried to quit the habit and picked it up again in 2021. Finally, he again quit it a year ago because it was affecting his health. 

Honey Singh shared he drank a lot at Sonakshi Sinha's wedding reception 

Honey Singh went on to add when he went to Sonakshi's reception, and the event went on, he felt like having alcohol. As a result, he drank more than half a bottle and went on to sing at the event. Within a few minutes, his performance changed the ambience of the reception, and he went on to drink more. Later, when he was drunk, he even confessed it in front of media cameras. In his words: 

"I went for the wedding. Everyone was there, it was Sonakshi's wedding so I said 'laao aaj (bring it on)'. After having more than half a bottle, I was up on the stage. There wasn't even a stage there, just a DJ console. I took the microphone and I just flipped her party. Then I drank even more. When I got out, the paparazzi were there and I was drunk."

Honey Singh's professional front 

On the work front, Honey Singh has created a new album titled Glory. It includes songs like Millionaire, Jatt Mehkma, High on Me, Hide It, Malamaal, Manu and more. Notably, the song, Millionaire went on to trend at number 1 on YouTube after a day of release.
