Hema Malini's First Statement On Husband, Dharmendra's Deteriorating Health, 'We're Hoping...'

After reports claimed that Dharmendra is on a ventilator, his wife, Hema Malini, shared an update on the same. For those who don't know, Hema Malini is Dharmendra's second wife, and they are parents to two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. For those who don't know, Dharmendra was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital on November 1, 2025.

Amid rumours of Dharmendra being on a ventilator, Hema Malini shared an update. In an interview with HT City, Hema Malini shared that they are hoping for his speedy recovery. The actress was spotted outside the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumabi, where Dharmendra was admitted. When photographer's expressed concern about Dharmendra's health, she gestured with folded hands and expressed gratitude. 

On November 10, 2025, a new report from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai stated that the 89-year-old veteran actor, Dharmendra, is on a ventilator. It seems like his condition is serious, and his millions of fans are praying for his good health. The report stated that his family members are reportedly visiting the hospital more frequently since morning. However, neither the family nor the hospital has released any statement. Dharmendra's health is being closely monitored, and he is responding to the treatment.

Earlier, on November 1, 2025, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital. A source close to him called it a normal routine check-up, which is why he was admitted. The source shared:

"Yes, Dharmendra is currently at Breach Candy Hospital, but there is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay. It seems that someone spotted him there, which has led to a frenzy among his fans, but there is nothing to be worried about as he is absolutely fine."

The insider also claimed that it was Dharmendra's decision to stay at the hospital till his tests were completed rather than travel back to his farmhouse, as it was quite tiring for him at this age. His sons are also busy with their shoots and keeping a check on their father's health. The source added: 

"Dharmendra undergoes multiple routine tests that usually take around two to three days to complete. Given that he is 89, daily travel can be tiring at this age. Hence, he himself chose to stay at the hospital and finish all the tests at once instead of commuting back and forth each day. His sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, who are currently occupied with their respective film shoots, are keeping a close eye on their father’s health and staying updated on the medical tests and the results."

Dharmendra and Hema Malini's love story began in the 1970s while working on Tum Haseen Main Jawan. The duo had worked in several hit Bollywood films, and while Dharmendra was head-over-heels in love with Hema Malini despite being married with kids, Hema Malini kept her distance from him. But she couldn't resist his love for long. Since Dharmendra couldn't divorce his first wife, Prakash, he converted to Islam to make his second wedding with Hema Malini legal. The couple quietly got married in a nikah in 1980, followed by an Iyengar-style wedding to respect Hema Malini's tradition.
