Hema Malini And Dharmendra's First Wife, Prakash Kaur And Children Hosted Two Separate Prayer Meets

Hema Malini and Dharmendra's love story was not an ordinary one. They had defied all odds and societal notions to marry each other. Despite a successful marriage, Hema Malini faced a lot of criticism, and fingers were pointed at her for marrying an already-married Dharmendra. But Hema Malini made the toughest decision and never interfered in the lives of Dharmendra's first family. And she lived to her promise even after his death. The two families hosted two separate prayer meets.

For the unversed, the first prayer meet named 'Celebration of Life' was hosted by Prakash Kaur and her sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol at Taj Lands End. The second one was hosted by Hema Malini and their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. She organised the last ritual for her husband at her bungalow. 

Several close family friends, including Sunita Ahuja and her son, Yashvardhan, were present at Hema Malini's home. Actress Madhoo also attended the prayer meet at Hema Malini's home. On the other hand, the prayer meet hosted by Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol was attended by who's who of Bollywood, including Ashwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Abhay Deol, Aryan Khan, and others. 

Hema Malini's last post for Dharmendra 

Taking to her X account, Hema Malini penned an emotional post and revealed how Dharmendra was everything to her. She called him a loving husband and adoring father of their two daughters, Esha and Ahaana. For Hema Malini, Dharmendra was not just a husband, but a friend, philosopher, guide, poet, and her go-to person. He has been with her in all ups and downs of life. She wrote:

"He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, Poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need - in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad. He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them."

Hema Malini further mentioned that it is an indescribable loss and the vacuum created is something that is going to last with her for the rest of her life. She stated that after years of being together, she is left with just memories. She concluded her note by mentioning:

"As a public personality, his talent, his humility in spite of his popularity, and his universal appeal set him apart as a unique icon unequalled among all the legends. His enduring fame and achievements in the film industry will last forever. My personal loss is indescribable and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments…"

Hema Malini once talked about her living condition with Dharmendra after her children grew up

In a 2023 interview for Lehren Retro, Hema Malini talked about her living condition with Dharmendra. She accepted that nobody wants to be like that, but it happened to her. And she accepted it, but nobody wants to live their life like this.

Hema Malini further revealed that every woman wants to have a husband and children and live like a normal family, but it was not in her way. However, she doesn't sulk about it and is happy.
