The much-loved director, SLB stood the expectation of his fans and did proper justice to the story of the series. Amid all being awestruck with Heeramandi, SLB also bagged some criticism and bashing for mainly two reasons: one is for glorifying the brothels and courtesans' lives, and the other is for casting his niece, Sharmin Segal, in the series, whose acting skills got tagged as 'poor', thereby igniting the nepotism debate. Amid this, some glimpses of Heeramandi's special screening surfaced online, and netizens have been reacting to the same.
For those who don't know, Heeramandi's special screening was held in Los Angeles, which was only attended by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his niece, Sharmin Segal. Now, taking to the discussion platform, Reddit, a user dropped glimpses of the same event. In the photos, Sharmin and SLB can be seen posing with Lily Singh and others. Sharmin, for the day, opted for a Heeramandi-inspired outfit. She stunned in a red choli, which she paired with a heavy lehenga. An addition of a sheer dupatta added stars to her look. A soft touch of makeup and classy earrings finalised her look.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali looked dapper in a black kurta, which he teamed with a matching chunni. A pair of classy glasses finalised his look. The famous influencer, Lily Singh, looked pretty in coat-pants, and an addition of a chunky pearl-studded neckpiece brought a desi twist to her look.

While some users mentioned the real reason behind Sharmin Segal turning off the comment section was the fact that she was the only one to be chosen to head towards LA for Heeramandi's special screening, others slammed SLB. Earlier, a video of Sharmin surfaced online, wherein the actress was asked if she had gotten any leeway for being a niece to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. To this, the actress shared that it's kind of the opposite. Meanwhile, Richa Chadha chipped in and replied that SLB was kind of harsh on Sharmin.
