Taha Shah, aka ‘Tajdar Baloch’ of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has become the new national crush. The 36-year-old has won the hearts of the audience with his captivating performance and charming looks in his latest release. While he debuted in Indian showbiz over a decade ago with the 2011 film, Luv Ka The End, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, it is only now that Taha Shah has been getting his long due and receiving appreciation from the viewers.
Taha Shah is currently at the French Riviera attending the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where he stylishly made his debut this year. While talking to Film Companion, the actor talked about the love he has been receiving from his fans, not only from India but from around the world ever since Heeramandi was released. Taha excitedly shared that when his fans saw him on the streets of Cannes, they started shouting and crying. Revealing that his friends went ballistic, Taha added:

“There were some incredible people whom I just met from Malaysia! They literally went ballistic! There was a bunch of girls who went crazy. They were shouting, they weren't saying anything! I was talking to a person, I was discussing a film and then all of a sudden, I looked this way, and they were like, ‘That’s Tajdar! That’s Tajdar! That’s Tajdar!’After that, they went crazy, and they started crying.”

Taha further revealed that he had never seen such a reaction ever before. Not only girls but even their mothers and fathers were fans of the Heeramandi actor. Taha shared that he was completely taken aback by such responses and love from his fans so much so that he did not know how to react. Sharing that he hoped to give his fans more love, Taha said:
“I have never seen that reaction ever before. They came near me, and the amount of photos and videos they took was different, but they called their mothers, and their mothers were fans! Their father were fans! I was overjoyed and completely taken aback because of so much love. I didn't know how to react, I hope I can just convey and give out more love.”

As a testament to his growing popularity, Taha Shah has seen a significant surge in his social media following. He has gained around 1.4 million followers on Instagram. During the same conversation, Taha mentioned that prior to Heeramandi’s release, his Instagram posts would garner a few hundred likes. However, post Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, he has been receiving hundreds of thousands of likes. The actor added that these numbers mean that the actual audience has been loving him. Taha also said that he has been getting DMs every two minutes and has even kept a team to reply to the messages or repost their stories, as every fan matters to him.
Furthermore, when the host said that she had heard a story about Taha chasing Sanjay Leela Bhansali in a hotel 10 years ago in London, the actor clarified that it happened in Mumbai. He walked behind the filmmaker to ask him for an opportunity to show him his filmography. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali looked at him, sat in his car, and drove away.
