A recent instance of this was when both Indian actress, Sharmin Segal and American singer, Halsey were spotted donning the same exclusive Sabyasachi lehenga-choli, showcasing the brand's universal allure.

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar actress, Sharmin Segal attended the series premiere with her uncle, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in Los Angeles on April 30, 2024. For the event, the actress opted for the opulent Sabyasachi outfit, comprising a full-sleeved choli adorned with heavy embroidery on the neck, a multi-coloured lehenga, and a sheer dupatta. She opted for subtle makeup, a pair of earrings and a few rings to accentuate the beauty of her look.

Halsey wore the same Sabyasachi heritage lehenga-choli to the Gold Gala

Meanwhile, American singer, Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, aka Halsey attended the 2024 Gold Gala in Los Angeles on May 11, 2024, wearing the same Sabyasachi heritage bridal couture. The singer graced the event with her boyfriend, Avan Jogia. Halsey opted for bangles, bracelets, rings and earrings to accessorise her outfit and tied her pink hair into a top bun with a few loose locks. She used ounces of makeup to complete her look. While Sharmin pinned the dupatta on her right side, Halsey chose to pin it on her left.

A user took to the discussion platform, Reddit and shared the pictures of Sharmin and Halsey wearing the same Sabyasachi heritage bridal lehenga-choli. Soon other netizens started comparing their looks. One user said, “Halsey looks like she’s cosplaying and Sharmin is just meh.” Another one wrote, “Halsey by a small margin because it fits her better - Sharmin's posture is with that slouch.” A third netizen mentioned, “worst vs worst.”

When Halsey wore numerous outfits from Indian designers

This isn’t the first time that the American singer, Halsey has worn an outfit from an Indian designer. Previously, when she came to India for her performance in Lollapalooza India, the American singer experimented quite a bit with Indian textiles. Halsey wore an ombre coral-hued Manish Malhotra sculpted saree adorned with mosaic sequins and a blouse of the same print. She paired her look with jewellery from Manish Malhotra High Jewellery. 

For her Lollapalooza performance, Halsey donned a custom-made embroidered crop top from the Indian brand Saaksha & Kinni, which she paired with a plaid skirt. For one of her outings in Mumbai, the 29-year-old chose another Indian brand, Anamika Khanna. She wore an ensemble in beige, which featured a sleeveless top with a sheer pattern and intricate lace work.
