Harshvardhan Rane's Serious Affair And Bitter Break Up With Kim Sharma, 'What Went Wrong Is My DNA'

Popular actor, Harshvardhan Rane became a household name when he made his Bollywood debut with the film, Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016. Though Rana started his acting career with the television show, Left Right Left in 2007, he ventured into films with Telugu films, Naa Ishtam Avunu, Prema Ishq Kaadhal, Anaamika and Maaya. 

It was his portrayal as a gangster in Taish that brought him immense fame among the audience. Just like his professional life, Harshvardhan’s personal life has also garnered a lot of attention. The actor was head-over-heels in love with actress, Kim Sharma and was open about the same. But destiny had something else in store for the two.

When Harshvardhan Rane accepted being in a relationship with Kim Sharma

It was in the year 2017 that rumours and reports of Harshvardhan Rane being in a relationship with Kim Sharma started making their way into the headlines. But the two celebrities had never confirmed the reports. Kim and Harshvardhan started making a lot of public appearances together, walking hand-in-hand, leaving the world in awe of them.

From walking the red carpets together to biking around, they were the cutest couple in town. In 2018, the handsome actor confirmed dating Kim and said:

“I will say I am a very open person. There’s nothing to hide, I have never been a person to hide anything. Of course I am in a relationship, but it’s a personal space. I am a private person. And as far as the other person is concerned, I have to respect them.”

However, as destiny would have it. Their love was short-lived, and the duo parted ways in 2019. It was Harshvardhan’s publicist, who confirmed the breakup. Meanwhile, Harsh also posted a cryptic note on his IG handle, which could be read as:

“K, Thank you gentle soul! It was amazing, and much more. God bless you, and God bless me too. Bye. H.”

Harshvardhan Rane opened up on his breakup with Kim and took the blame on himself

A few months after the breakup, Harshvardhan Rane opened up about his bitter breakup and took the blame on himself. Speaking to Times Now, the actor revealed what went wrong and said:

“What went wrong is my DNA. It is clear that I was single for the last 12 years. There has to be a reason for sure because nothing happens without any reason. I started dating her and she is the most fun person on this planet earth. I really went through one of my best times. I think it is my DNA, it is my wiring, that I would like to blame. There’s a dialogue in Rang De Basanti - azadi meri dulhan hai, vaise hi main bolunga ki cinema meri dulhan hai."

Harshvardhan Rane coldly reacted to Kim Sharma and Leander Paes’s relationship

After their breakup, Kim Sharma went on to date Tennis star, Leander Paes, and their pictures were all over the social media. In an interview with ETimes, when Harshvardhan was asked to comment on his ex-girlfriend, Kim Sharma's relationship rumours with Leander Paes, he called them the ‘hottest couple in town’.

Harshvardhan Rane’s dating rumours with Sanjeeda Sheikh

The rumours about Harshvardhan Rane and Sanjeeda Shaikh dating each other started making rounds on the internet after the duo's alleged pictures from their vacation with each other went viral. In June 2023, Sanjeeda was on vacation with her daughter, Ayra, as they explored the forest of Gir. While Sanjeeda's pictures didn't feature anyone else, some fans found a similarity between her and Harshvardhan Rane's IG posts. The duo worked together in the action drama, Taish. Harshvardhan had also dropped a picture of him on a similar safari.
