Indian women claimed their first ODI World Cup as they defeated South Africa by 52 runs on November 2, 2025. The final was played at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where India beat South Africa by 52 runs. SA won the toss and chose to bowl, leading India to 298 in 7 wickets. In the second half, Indian women kept the show going as they took 10 wickets in 45.3 overs for 246 runs, thereby paving the way for their big win. Deepti Sharma was the player of the tournament, taking 5 wickets in the final, prompting everyone to scream at the top of their lungs as she paved the way for the massive win after the heartbreaks of 2005 and 2017, when India ended up as the runner-up.
