It was back in 2017 when one of India’s top advocates, Harish Salve took the high-profile case of Kulbhushan Jadhav into his hands. While on one side, he only charged a sum of Rs. 1, Pakistan reportedly spent Rs. 20 crores on their lawyers. The case was fought at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), where Harish Salve opposed the Pakistani military court’s decision to give the death penalty to Kulbhushan, who was an Indian national.

The ICJ told the Pakistani military court to run the trial and conviction process from scratch. It was a remarkable win for India, and all credit goes to Harish Salve.
