'KGF' Fame Harish Rai Reveals He Is Battling Throat Cancer And Had No Money For Surgery

'KGF' Fame Harish Rai Reveals He Is Battling Throat Cancer And Had No Money For Surgery

Indian actor, Harish Rai, who gained a lot of love across the nation for his acting stint in the film, KGF, revealed his tough battle with throat cancer. For the first time ever, Harish talked about his struggles of getting diagnosed with advanced throat cancer. He also revealed how he had no money for surgery and waited for his film's release. 

For those who don't know, Harish is also known for working in films like Bangalore Underworld, Dhan Dhana Dhan and Nanna Kanasina Hoove. He has been a famous character artist in Kannada cinema for the past 25 years.

In an interview with YouTuber Gopi Gowdru, Harish revealed that three years ago, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. He also shared that the reason why he has kept his bear that way in KGF  is that he wanted to hide the swelling around his neck in the film. Harish shared:

"Situations can bestow greatness upon you or take things away from you. There is no escaping fate. I’ve been suffering from cancer for three years. There is a reason I had a long beard when performing in KGF, to cover up the swelling in my neck that this disease has created."

Harish also added that his surgery was delayed as he didn't have enough money for it and now things have gotten worse. Harish shared that his cancer is on fourth stage now. He revealed:

"I put off my surgery because I didn’t have any money at first. I waited till the movies were released. Now that I’m at the fourth stage, things are becoming worse."
