Hansika Motwani's Ex SIL, Muskaan Nancy Squashes Defamation Suit Filed By Actress On Her, 'Notice..'

Things seem to be uglier between Hansika Motwani and her estranged sister-in-law, Muskaan Nancy James. According to social media reports, Muskaan had filed an FIR against her husband, Prashant Motwani, actress Hansika, and her mom. Muskaan claimed domestic violence charges, and recently the actress reportedly filed a defamation suit against Muskaan demanding Rs. 2 crore and a public apology. Now, Muskaan reportedly squashed rumours related to the notice sent by Hansika.

Now, a while back, Muskaan took to her Instagram Story on April 11, 2026, to take a dig at the alleged claims. She urged the media to verify the news properly before spreading it and also denied receiving any legal notice from Hansika. Muskaan took to her Instagram Story to explain that the information needed to be verified. She wanted to know details regarding the secret informer and said:

"Dearest paid PR team, a little verification before posting (and quietly deleting) would really help. Also... notice gaya hai kya? I understand, Mumbai traffic.. And who exactly is this 'secret informer'? kahan hai?? Traffic mein atak thoda sa facts bhi check kar lijiye... it helps. Anyway, loads of love."

Hansika Motwani's estranged sister-in-law, Muskaan Nancy James, was seen wearing a grey-hued mask, touching her forehead, and smirking at the alleged false defamation news that spread in the media. For the unversed, it was on December 18, 2024, that under varied sections like 498-A, 323, 504, 506, and 34 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Muskan had alleged domestic violence charges on the Motwani family. Hansika reportedly appeared in a sessions court in Mumbai and claimed Rs. 2 crore in damages for the alleged defamation by Muskaan.

A report by NDTV alleged that Muskaan had claimed that Hansika did not repay the Rs. 27 lakh loan. The amount was reportedly borrowed when she married Hansika's brother, Prashant Motwani, and has not been paid by Muskaan despite many requests. Hansika had earlier stated that she had very little involvement in her brother Prashant's marriage. She claimed not to have been living with the pair and that the relationship between Prashant and Muskaan had deteriorated over time.

Hansika alleged that she had no idea of the disputes between Prashant and Muskaan and that she was a short-term TV actress who wanted a grand lifestyle but had not cleared her dues. Hansika reportedly filed a Rs. 2 crore defamation suit and requested the Mumbai Sessions court to restrain Nancy from making any defamatory statements about her. Hansika also demanded a public apology for the reported harm to her reputation.

For the unversed, according to social media reports, it was advocate Adnan Shaikh who filed the suit and accused Nancy of making defamatory and false allegations on social media. Well, on the flip side, Muskaan in her FIR had alleged that due to domestic violence, she got a condition like Bell's Palsy, which is facial paralysis. In this, there is temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles on one side of the face. It is worth mentioning that Muskaan and Prashant have seen trouble in their married life, reportedly from 2020. According to various social media reports, Muskaan and Prashant have been staying separately since 2022. Hansika had earlier revealed that divorce related discussions happened between both like since a long time.
