Groom Demanded Rs. 51 Lakh, A Luxury Car On Wedding Day, Ladkiwalas Thrashes Him, Asks For Rs. 73L

Weddings are the happiest occasions of a bride and groom's life. It's not only the union of two individuals but rather of two families. Dowry, in simple words, is a gift of the bride's family to the groom, and while it has been there in culture for years, in modern times, there are mostly no such things that can fixate a marital bond. However, there are several instances when the bride's family, according to their own wish, gives a dowry to the groom. Recently, an incident happened where a groom's demands didn't end even after getting a hefty dowry from the bride's family, and it ended up causing a rift and finally breaking the wedding.

A Gurugram groom gets beaten up as he demands Rs. 51 lakh and a luxury car from the bride's family

The incident happened in Bhangrola village of Gurugram. As per reports, a groom named Mohit arrived with his baarat to the bride, Chanchal's home. During the ritual, neem jhadai, the groom's uncle reportedly pushed the women and demanded crores, and said the baarat would move back if the bride's family didn't fulfil the same. The bride thought it to be a joke, but it turned out that the groom's side was actually demanding the same. Reportedly, the groom's family asked for Rs. 51 lakh cash and a luxury car.

The bride's family already gave dowry to the groom's family before the wedding took place

The bride's father revealed that when they had sent the lagaan to the groom's family, a Brezza car and other house appliances were also sent to the groom's house. And a total of Rs. 70 lakh was invested in the wedding. Well, they, along with other villagers, reportedly requested the groom's family to understand, but they didn't pay any attention to the same and stuck to their demands.

After a while, the bride's family broke the wedding. This resulted in an outrage, and the groom was beaten by the bride's family. Recently, a video of the same went viral, wherein a groom was being trashed on the street.

The groom's family was asked to pay back Rs. 73 lakhs to the bride's family

As per several reports, after the incident happened at the wedding, it was called off and a panchayat was arranged, which went for 15 hours. During the meeting, it was decided that the groom's family would have to return the car along with Rs. 73 lakhs to the bride's family. The groom's family didn't have that much money, and thus they made an agreement for a plot and a house, and mortgaged four kanal land in Fazilpur Badli and a 220-yard house in Judaula village. As per reports, the groom, Mohit is pursuing MBBS, while the bride, Chanchal is pursuing JBT. The bride's father is a retired Army officer and now, he is working as a constable at Delhi Police.
