Gurpreet Bedi And Kapil Arya Announce Their Newborn Baby Boy's Unique Japanese Originated Name

Gurpreet Bedi is one of the well-known television actresses, who is best known for her role as 'Reeva' in Sony Television's Dil Hi Toh Hai. Apart from that, she was on the top 10 finalists list for Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2010. In her personal life, she is married to actor, Kapil Arya. Recently, Gurpreet and Kapil became parents to a baby boy. On April 15, 2025, Gurpreet and Kapil, in a collaborative post, announced their baby boy's name in the most adorable way possible.

Actress, Gurpreet Bedi reveals his son's adorable name through a cute IG post

Taking to her IG handle, Gurpreet Bedi, in a collaborative post with Kapil Arya dropped a photo of the new member of their family. The little one was seen lying on his back while holding his parents' fingers with his tiny grip. Atop the photo, his name was revealed through a cute message. The message could be read as, "Hi world, I'm Azai'. In the next slide, the baby boy's name's meaning was revealed. Azai is a Japanese-originated word that means strength. In the following lines, it was beautifully written be in any situation, Azai will shine through the same, as his name holds the meaning 'strength'. It was also written that Azai will tackle any situation, with his energetic personality and adventurous spirit.

Gurpreet Bedi talked about embracing motherhood

In an interview with ETimes, Gurpreet Bedi shared her emotions to embrace the newest phase of her life. She said that she thought she would have a girl, and everyone around her believed the same, but she actually became a mom to a baby boy. She further shared that she gave birth on April 2, 2025, and since then, a lot has changed. Gurpreet stated that she has been feeling all kinds of emotions, and her sleep cycle has gone for a toss, making her days nights, and nights into days.

In the same interview, Gurpreet Bedi mentioned that the feeling of being a mom is indescribable as she never imagined herself to be a mom. She stated that it's a different feeling to sink in and there are a lot of changes in her body as well, and she will need time to come in terms with them. In Gurpreet's words:

"I don't know how to put my feelings into words. I never imagined myself being a mother and now that it has happened it is a very different feeling to sink in. There are many changes in the body, and it takes time to come to terms with these changes. I am still learning to take it in my stride, but all this takes time, and it is alright."

Talking about her husband's contribution to the new phase of their lives, Kapil is a hands-on father and he stays up for the whole night and makes their little one go to sleep. Kapil also helps her to change their little one's diapers. It was on December 28, 2025, when Gurpreet and Kapil shared a video on their IG handle to announce their pregnancy.
