'Grey's Anatomy 22' Episode 4: 'Meredith Grey's' Old Friend Returns But Much To Her Disapproval

We are so close to Grey's Anatomy Season 22 midseason finale. The show will go on hiatus in November 2025 and return in March 2026. However, before that, the season has already given us several surprises. From 'Teddy's' makeout session with 'Cass', the new plastic fellow, and the recurrence of 'Dr Meredith Grey', fans have been cautiously happy. And now, to add to their happy smiles, the show is bringing another old friend back to Grey Sloan.

Who is coming back in Grey's Anatomy Season 22 Episode 4?

Grey's Anatomy Season 22 Episode 4 has been released, and, as with its preceding episodes, the show has some loving surprises for fans. The 'Avery' heir is back in the show! Yes, Shonda has brought back 'Jackson' for the latest episode. However, his arrival has been accompanied by some bad news for 'Meredith'. As she and 'Weber' undergo surgeries and training, 'Meredith's' phone goes off, and it's pretty evident that it is linked to 'Koracick's' paper.

Let us roll back a bit and look at what really happened. There is an emergency in the ER, as the first responders bring back two young horse riders with injuries. 'Blue' continues to work with our new plastic fellow 'Mohanty' with tension running higher than ever, which leads to 'Jackson's' presence. There's a major surgery, but 'Mohanty' learns that her position is detrimental. She's needed elsewhere, so she doesn't get to spend time in surgery.

On the other hand, 'Blue' gets to stay, along with 'Warren', and a few other interns. They're working with a firefighter trainer, who is in remission, but needs breast reconstruction. As all this unfolds, fans finally find out why 'Meredith' was so bothered by the text: it turns out she had done 'Koracick's' same study with female mice, which proves the opposite of what the cocky neurosurgeon had previously proven. 'Jackson' makes it clear that 'Meredith' should be back at her lab to help show why female mice given antibiotics with the Alzheimer's treatment show no improvement.

'Link' is kinda back at work

As things get rough in the ER, 'Vincent', who is not actually a patient with a head wound and chest pains, collapses. While everyone is confused about what is going on with the man, 'Link' turns up since 'Jo' is still working. However, he's not exactly cleared to work. Despite that, he can't help but share his opinion, and since he's worked with pro athletes, 'Vincent' wants to hear what the doctor has to say.

'Bailey' tells 'Katie' her cancer has spread

'Bailey' has to break the news to 'Katie', and the strong-headed woman is ready to fight the cancer, which will mean a new chemo regimen after recovering from her splenectomy. There are some clinical trials to consider. However, that's when 'Bailey' notices that no one is coming to visit 'Katie', and she tells herself she just needs to focus on the fight. Once they know more, 'Katie' will tell her mom. 'Bailey' decides to leave 'Lucas' and his intern to keep an eye on 'Katie', despite 'Lucas' wanting to watch the major surgery in the OR.
