Govinda's Manager Reacts To 'Cruelty' Allegations On The Actor By Sunita, 'Haath Nahi Utha Sakta'

Bollywood actor, Govinda’s divorce news has been making the headlines. Reports were rife that the actor’s wife had accused him of ‘adultery, cruelty, and desertion’. On top of it, Sunita removed Govinda’s surname from her social media handle, which created a lot more speculation. However, Govinda’s manager has reacted to all the allegations levelled against the actor.

Govinda’s manager reacts to allegations of cruelty against him

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Govinda’s manager, Shashi, revealed that fights are common in every couple’s life. The news is blown out of proportion by media outlets. Sharing his opinion on Govinda and the allegation of cruelty levied on the actor, Shashi stated:

“Govinda jaisa insaan kisi par haath nahin utha sakta, chilla nahin sakta toh yeh cruelty jaise claims aa kaha se rahe hain? I have worked closely with him aur woh insan bilkul aisa nahin hai jaisi image unki ab banai jaa rahi hai. Yeh sab mudde past ki kahaniya hai jinn par dono miya biwi- sath mein kaam bhi kar rahe hai."

In the same interaction, Shashi also stated that just like Govinda, Sunita too was never present in court. He also stated that Sunita has only appeared in the court once when she went to file the case. He also shared that, as a normal couple, they have fights, but they resolve them and are currently focusing on their kids.

Govinda’s friend recalls witnessing violent fights between him and Sunita

Govinda and Sunita have been married for 38 years, and the news of their divorce has shocked their fans. A source close to the couple revealed witnessing violent fights between Govinda and Sunita and shared:

“Yes, they (Govinda-Sunita) have their fights. Yes, violent fights. I have been a first-hand witness to some of them. But they will never separate permanently. After fights, Govinda shifts to his other bungalow and returns when things cool down.”

Govinda and Sunita’s divorce rumours

As per a recent report by Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce from Govinda back in December 2024 in the Bandra family court. She moved the case under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion as grounds. Govinda was reportedly called by the court on May 25, 2025, and since June 2025, the couple has been undergoing court-mandated counselling. The same report also revealed that while Sunita Ahuja has been constantly attending the court hearings, Govinda has been missing them.
