Govinda, born as Govind Arun Ahuja, is an actor and politician. The actor has done 150+ films in his acting career and is known for his satirical performances and dance skills. He was the leading actor throughout the 90s and was last seen in Sikander Bharti's 2019 comedy-drama, Rangeela Raja.
Govinda recently sat for a conversation with Shaktiman fame, Mukesh Khanna on his YouTube channel. The superstar who reigned the Hindi cinema throughout the 90s with his versatile and captivating performances opened up about his journey in the glitz and glam of B-Town. While Govinda has been away from the big screens for a long time now, he has not been forgotten by his fans, and they are eagerly waiting for the actor's return.
During the conversation, Govinda shared how there was a time when he was allegedly defamed in the industry. He revealed that all the attacks on him were well-planned and were meant to remove him from the film fraternity. He was quoted as saying:
"I went through a defamation phase, and it was predetermined. They wanted to remove me from the film industry. I understood that I, an uneducated person, have come in between educated people, and they want to remove me."
He further stated that he still stands in the industry, as these people couldn't spoil his name. He added that he was still surviving because of the industry. However, he felt disappointed as he didn't know to what extent these people were willing to stoop. He revealed that people were caught outside his house with guns, and such conspiracies changed his nature.
In the same conversation, Govinda made another shocking revelation. The veteran superstar recalled that he was once offered a Rs. 100 crore film, and he rejected it. He revealed that speculations were going around that he didn't have any work, while the reality was significantly different.

He recalled that he had left a Rs. 100 crore film and was beating himself up for it. Govinda shared that he would look in the mirror and slap himself for making such a careless decision. The actor added that he would constantly tell himself that he had gone mad. However, he defended his decision by underlining the importance of staying true to oneself. He stated:
"When they were writing that I didn’t have work, I had left a Rs 100 crore film. I was looking in the mirror and slapping myself for refusing the project. I told myself, ‘You have gone mad; you could have financed yourself with that money.’ The film had the same role that is working these days."
It was only a few days ago when speculations started making rounds that Govinda was in the middle of a divorce with Sunita Ahuja. However, the actor quashed the speculations, revealing that he has been keeping busy with his work commitments. In a conversation with ETimes, the actor revealed that he was in the process of starting a film. He stated:
"There are only business talks going...I am in the process of starting my films."
