Govinda a.k.a Hero No. 1 and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been married for more than three decades now. However, in recent times, Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have made headlines with rumours of their divorce. For the uninitiated, rumours of the couple’s divorce have been circulating since 2024. However, the duo’s joint Ganpati celebrations have shut down the rumours. In a recent interview, Govinda and Sunita’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, addressed the buzz and shared that it was false. Now, ahead of the Ganpati’s Visarjan, the evergreen couple danced together, quashing the divorce rumours.

Govinda and his wife, Sunita, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi in their Mumbai house. Recently, several videos have surfaced online where the couple were seen bidding adieu to Ganpati. However, it was the duo’s dance in matching outfits that came into the spotlight. Sunita wore a red and white floral-printed suit with a white dupatta, while Govinda donned a white kurta-pyjama with a matching dupatta. The video also featured the couple’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, who was carrying the Ganesha idol.

Govinda and Sunita addressed the divorce buzz on Ganesh Chaturthi

On Ganesh Chaturthi, Govinda opened up about the separation buzz. With folded hands, he said humbly that he doesn’t consider himself very important, and whatever success he has achieved in life is only because of God’s blessings. He added that people will never see him disrespecting or opposing women. He further explained that no matter how much money, fame, or stardom a man gets, his role is just to work, but his real luck comes from the devi in his house (his wife).

Sunita, his wife, was standing beside him while he spoke to the media. Sunita also spoke to the media. She joked with photographers, saying, “My husband is only mine.” In an interview with ANI, she said that if something were actually wrong between them, they wouldn’t be this close to each other. She was quoted as saying:

"Aaj itna close, close… agar kuch hota toh hum itne nazdeek hotey?"

When Govinda and Sunita’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, talked about her parents’ separation buzz

Earlier this month, Govinda and Sunita’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, sat for an interview with Hindustan Times, where she was questioned about the buzz surrounding her parents’ divorce. She shut down the speculations and termed it as fake. She also requested that the media not focus on the separation rumours. She was quoted as saying:

"It's all rumours. I don't pay attention to these rumours."

Further in the interview, Tina was asked how her parents were handling the news. She said she couldn’t really comment on that and mentioned that her father is currently not in the country. She added that she feels fortunate to have a wonderful family and is grateful for the love, concern, and support she receives from the media, fans, and well-wishers. In her words:

"Kya bolun mein? He is not even in the country. I feel blessed to have a beautiful family, and I am really grateful for all the concern, love and support we have been receiving from the media, fans, and loved ones."
