Rare 'Gota Patti' Dior Bag With Mirror-Work And A 'Nath'-Style Chain, Bright Pink-Hue Steal The Show

There are some bags, and then there are some iconic bags which take a part of you, and Christian Dior's bags are one of them. However, in 2007, Galliano created twelve limited edition global-themed versions of the iconic Dior saddle bag. Now, a writer found the rarest saddle bag from the India collection, and oh boy, it speaks royalty, and the design is just so pretty.

For those who don't know, the Dior's bag was manufactured in extremely limited numbers, with only 100 pieces of each. The designer Dior bag was an ode to the Indian culture as it featured a bright pink colour with dazzling gemstones, layers of gota patti and floral details. It also had pretty mirror work. Another highlight was a nath-style chain with a huge 'D' hanging in the middle of the saddle bag. 

Talking about the saddle bag, it had a petite interior with a zip pocket, and it was lined with gorgeous champagne monogram textiles. The original price of the bag was 4,500 US Dollars, which, if converted to INR, turns out to be Rs. 3,75,750. One of the Instagram pages, Diet Partha, re-shared the post of Jackariaeh Francis, who is a writer and collects vintage archival pieces. And how he got the Indian-themed Dior bag. As soon as the post was shared, netizens flooded the comments section. One user wrote, "Omg! DREAM bag." Another one commented, "I’m expecting desi knock offs kicking the market very soon." A third user pointed out, "We get these in santacruz market for 350 bucks." A fourth one penned, "So stunning! @dior need to make a collection like this again!"

Dior's first fashion show in India

For the unversed, in 2023, The Dior Fall fashion show was held in India for the first time at the Gateway of India, Mumbai. The glittery event saw some of the A-listers from the glamour world. The ultimate style icon of Bollywood, Rekha graced the event with her usual panache. She was the only celebrity at the event, who didn’t wear anything from the brand, Dior and rather stuck to her six yards of elegance.
