Bollywood singer, Chinmay Sripaada is famous for her songs in films like 2 States, Guru Hasee Toh Phase, and many more. Recently, she shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message on her social media account, X. The message was about a gold medalist groom who had shared a list of requirements for his potential bride. The social media post went viral, and netizens expressed their shock.
In the modern Indian world, where women have created their own identities and are filing their own taxes, managing their funds and buying their own homes, they still have to face a checklist when it comes to being someone's wife. Yes, Chinmayi took to her social media account, X, and shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message. The singer wrote:
"This is the exact List Of Requirements that a Groom sent to a prospective bride who is a Medico. Groom is a PhD and Gold Medallist apparently. LOL."
Talking about the groom's list of requirements, he wants a graceful, competent and smart bride . On top of it, the gold medalist groom wants her to manage household and family responsibilities. He even demanded that his potential wife should be able to manage house chores without any servants.
The person further added that his wife would not be able to work during the initial seven years of marriage unless she is posted to Chennai. An excerpt from the groom's weird list of requirements reads:
“For the initial seven years after marriage, she may not be able to work, unless posted to Chennai, because we expect a child from this marriage, and until the child goes to school, the bride would be able to do justice to her job."
One of the user claimed it to be fake and wrote, "Cooked story to demean someone." However, Chinamyi instantly replied, "I'll give you the matrimonial profile ID and the website if you want." Another user wrote, "Lol such men ,1st ask their wives to give up a booming career( medico), and cry foul if wive demands alimony,10 yrs down the line. And hey, as sir is PHD and bla so needs a wife who is educated and built something for herself, only to give it up!"

Another user took the side of the groom and shared how the bride's family demands the husband have a 'six-figure' salary. The user wrote, "They are entitled to have their preferences the way bride's family would be having (6 figure salary, stay separate from parents after marriage, etc.)." To this, the singer commented, "Yeah, then don't expect a qualified doctor to be an unpaid housemaid who should not use ‘mechanised’ tools for housework."
